Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. is one of Indias largest private sector enterprise in power utility and infrastructure sectors of India. Power sector - generation, transmission, distribution and trading of electricity and constructing power plants as EPC partners. Infrastructure - roads, Urban infrastructure which includes MRTS, Sealink and Airports, etc. Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) segment of the power sector.

Company Profile
EPC HR comprises of a Recruitment team and an Employee Services Group(ESG). Recruitment team handles the selection and recruitment process. Employee Services Group handles employee service functions like payroll, performance management system, transfers and deputations, etc.

Employee Engagement
According to Scarlett Surveys, "Employee Engagement is a measureable degree of an employee's positive or negative emotional attachment to their job, colleagues and organization which profoundly influences their willingness to learn & perform at work."
Employee engagement involves : Level of commitment and involvement. People enjoy and believe in what they do. Not a short term initiative.

Lead to a feeling of commitment and attachment. Activities and games can de stress the employees. Healthy relationship with co-workers. Reward and recognition opportunities.

ROLE OF EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT IN WORK LIFE BALANCE

Programs stressing on providing a healthy work life balance. Leads to lesser distractions in work and peace of mind. Help employees in managing their time and dividing it effectively between work. Involve their family members in organizations cultural functions and events.

Findings
Questionnaire involves six parameters:

Work engagement- employees are aware of job expectations and receive information. Organizational engagement- employees not get feedback, opportunities for career advancement. Work Life Balance-employees not provided with flexible work life balance, not encourage involvement of family members. Work place activities-employees feel that activities will release stress. Retention-employees have perception that activities will help in retention. Welfare initiatives-employees agreed that initiatives will lead to employee engagement.

Recommendations
Provide opportunities for career exploration. Provide flexible working hours. Organizational engagement need to be improved. Events and games need to be involved. Welfare programs need to be involved.
