Rubber Dam is important for isolation. Isolation of tooth from saliva. Isolation of tissues from irrigating solutions and instruments. It prevents aspiration (swallowing) of materials and instruments. It prevents overly talkative patients from talking. CON: Hassle in placement thus not frequently used (especially Philippines)

What cement is recommended?

1. Resin Cement

a. Does not expand after setting so less root breakage (no stress) b. It can be bonded to the tooth tissue (esp. esthetic post)
2. Re-inforced GI Cement whose expansion is decreased (vs ordinary GI)resin in the component.

Do Not Use
Zinc Phosphate cement Polycarboxylate cement Glass Ionomer cement * The above mentioned will expand while setting
