How to edit guide.

Stage 1 : Creating folders and saving work

Step 1
Create a folder on a memory stick and name it after your project.

Step 2
Within the folder create 3 other folders 1. Footage (your captured footage) 2. Sound ( music and SFX) 3. Archive ( pictures)

Step 3
Open premier pro Select new project

Step 4
Save your project to your project folder. Click the browse button next to your location drop down menu, navigate to your main folder. Select ok Name your project and select ok at the bottom of the box.

Step 5
Save your work to the format DV-PAL and standard 48 kHz. Name your sequence ( title of production) Select ok Your editing screen should now appear

Stage 2: Converting images for premier pro

Step 1
Open Adobe Media Encoder

Step 2
Click the add button and choose which clips you would like to encode

Step 3
Once all the clips have been added to your encoding queue. You need to change the footage from movie clip to QuickTime, you do this by clicking the drop down menu next to the first column..

Step 4
Once all clips have been changed to Quick Time, select start queue Your movies will start to encode, all footage will appear In your original folder.

Stage 3 Adobe Premier Pro instructions

Importing clips from your computer


File Import Highlight all files you want to import Click import Your files will then appear in your assets window box.

Step 1
Open your raw footage bin, Select sequence Double click on sequence Footage will appear in source monitor

Step 2
Decide which clip you want to edit Scroll cursor to beginning of clip Click on the in point button Move your cursor to the end of your clip And press out button

Step 3
Move your footage to the timeline there is 3 possible options on how to do this: 1. (footage only) place cursor over the small film sign under your footage and drag to the timeline then drop. 2. (sound only) place cursor over the small volume button under your footage and drag to the timeline before dropping 3. ( both footage and sound) place cursor at the bottom of your footage until the hand cursor appears then drag and drop the footage onto the timeline.

Step 4
You can start to make your video by adding transitions and effects. Transitions can be found in the effects box Click on video transitions and a list will appear. Select fade and drag it so it covers the cut between the separate footages. Effects can be found in the same place. Select the effect you wish to use and drag over your clip, you can adjust the strength of the effect by altering the levels in the control panel.

Step 5
Exporting your work File Export Export media Then export at the bottom once you have made sure that it is set to quicktime.
