Access Control
Restricting access based on something other than the identity of the user is generally referred to as Access Control. Examples : Allow and Deny Syntax is ( Allow from Address) (deny from 11.22.33.44) Satisfy A very good example of this is using access control to assure that, although a resource is password protected from outside your network, all hosts inside the network will be given free access to the resource.

Security
Security is needed to establish rules and measures to use against attacks over the Internet.

Profiling and Personalizing

Personalization involves using technology to accommodate the differences between individuals. personalization is often based on user attributes such as department, functional area, or role.

Content management, or CM, is the set of processes and technologies that support the collection, managing, and publishing of information in any form or medium. Catalog
It is defined as a common interfaces to discover, browse, and query metadata about data, services, and other potential resources. Example Database Catalogue.

Workflow consists of a Sequence of concatenated (connected) steps.

A workflow management system is a computer system that manages and defines a series of tasks within an organization to produce a final outcome or outcomes. Workflow management systems allow the user to define different workflows for different types of jobs or processes. Example : Manufacturing

Event Notification
Event notification is a term used in conjunction with communications software for linking applications that generate small messages (the "events") to applications that monitor the associated conditions and may take actions triggered by events Event notification is an important feature in modern database systems (used to inform applications when conditions they are watching for have occurred), modern operating systems (used to inform applications when they should take some action, such as refreshing a window), and modern distributed systems, where the producer of an event might be on a different machine than the consumer, or consumers.

Collaboration and Trading

Collaboration is working together to achieve a goal. It is a recursive process where two or more people or

organization work together to realize shared goals, (this is more than the intersection of common goals seen in co-operative ventures, but a deep, collective, determination to reach an identical objective.

Trade is the transfer of ownership of goods and services from one person or entity to another. Trade is sometimes loosely called commerce or financial transaction or barter. A network that allows trade is called a market.
