Summary
Unit-1
Manpower planning includes manpower procurement, development, allocation and utilization. Identifies manpower surplus & shortage and helps keep manpower costs low. The five steps in manpower planning are: Evaluate current manpower inventory Develop manpower forecast Develop manpower sourcing or retrenchment plan Allocate manpower Build competencies
Obstacles of manpower planning are non optimal utilization of manpower, absenteeism and lack of employable labor.
