What is Deforestation?
Deforestation is the permanent destruction of indigenous forests and woodlands. The term does not include the removal of industrial forests such as plantations of gums or pines. The land is then converted into a non forest use, which includes quarrying, housing settlements ,areas for agriculture and industrial sites.

Causes of Deforestation
Depends on the country. Example in Brazil the main reason is cattle ranching, Ethiopia is shifting agriculture and in Trinidad and Tobago is quarrying and Illegal logging.
