STUDENT EVALUATION
Purpose : To evaluate the transfer of learning throughout the period of teaching . Instead of one point evaluation at term end.
STUDENT EVALUATION
Components of evaluation :
Continuous Assessment(CA) Attendance Academic Tasks (AT) Mid-Term Exams(MTE) End-Term Exams(ETE) Weightage of CA, MTE & ETE for various courses is specified in the course syllabus.
IF: Aggregate Attendance 70% Aggregate attendance 50% < 70% Aggregate Attendance < 50%
THEN: Allowed to appear in ETE of all Courses Only appear in those courses where attendance 70%. Cannot appear in ETE of any course
BONUS ATTENDANCE
However we understand that there may be some unforeseen circumstances, and to account for this we shall consider your attendance for the immediate last two terms (sum of the aggregate bonus attendance percentage of immediate last two terms) and allow bonus percentage in a term . If a student is in his first term, bonus attendance will be calculated on Double the attendance either before MTE or after MTE, which ever is higher. This facility only enables you to appear in the examination. It does not facilitate in gaining any extra marks.
BONUS ATTENDANCE
The following allowance will be given to all the students to take care of exigencies like medical or immobilization due to any valid reasons:

Scoring minimum 30% in ETE and MTE together.
FAIL GRADE F
F grade will be awarded in only three cases:
Case I : Student does not satisfy the attendance requirement for being
eligible to appear in the End Term examination. or Case II : Student has availed all the chances for re-appearing in ETE for clearing E grade in a course. or - Case III : F grade awarded by the Unfair Means Case (UMC) Board . To clear F grade student has to re-register the course and attend classes and appear for all components of evaluation (CA, MTE and ETE).
IMPROVEMENT EXAMINATION
In case a student after obtaining the Pass Grade, wants to improve his result, he will have two options: Option 1: Reappear for the course In this case the best grade shall prevail Option2: Re-register the course The Best Grade will prevail.

TGPA : Term Grade Point Average CGPA : Cumulative Grade Point Average
TGPA
Performance of a student in particular term is measured by TGPA. It is a weighted average of the grades secured in all the courses taken in a term.
where, Cn is the number of credits associated with the nth course of a term. Gn is the grade point earned in the nth course , and the summation extends over all the courses in which grades are obtained.
CGPA
It indicates the overall academic performance of a student in all the courses registered up to and including the latest completed term.
Computed in same manner as TGPA, the summation extends over all courses in which a student was registered up to and including the term for which CGPA is calculated TGPA CGPA
Important:
The calculation of TGPA/CGPA will include the credits for courses in which the student has been awarded E or F grades.
After Third Year: He has passed at least 60 % of the Courses prescribed in first three years i.e. 1st , 2nd and 3rd year taken together.
The promotion of a student to higher qualification (degree/diploma/certificate) is subject to satisfying the following condition: The student till date has scored a minimum CGPA of 5 for grade based programmes or a minimum 45% marks for marks based programmes.
ACADEMIC HONOUR
The University shall confer academic honour upon students of all regular programmes after every academic session. The eligible students will be honoured by placing them on the Vice-Chancellors Roll of Honour. A certificate for the achievement will also be given.
