This study is about wages and salary administration. In Ashta Liners Pvt. Ltd., Ashta. The study of wages and salary is an important for every organization. The wages and salary administration or structure are used in every organization for goal oriented. Wages and salary administration provides maximum benefit to the organization. Such as increasing production, sound labor relationship and employee satisfaction. Main objective of wages and salary administration is to maintain an equitable wages and salary structure.

Scope consists of wages and salary administration. The problems of unemployment are faced by under developed country like India. Due to this project study it is easy to understand of the employee opinion or how much satisfied or how much unsatisfied about present wages and salary. It is easy understand how the wages and salary administration is done by any organization. It also provides information about the wages paid to the workers and his family. Hence the management should provide additional benefit to the workers.

Brief History of the Organization :


Ashta Liners Private Limited is private limited company. The company has established in 1989 and also purpose of production is commenced same year. For creating new employment opportunities for the local people in Ashta as well as outside villages people. The Chairman Shri. R. S. Zanvar established Ashta Liners Private Ltd., This Ashta Liners Private Company is working at long period ago under the Zanvar group of industries Kolhapur.

At the time of establishment the companys casting production was 4050 Ton (1Ton 100Kg) per month. Now there is newly production 1000 Ton per month. Ashta Liners Pvt Ltd.

Introduction:

Management have to determine the wages & salary based on several Factors including job evaluation wages and salary administration is the most important aspect of human resource management. Base wages and salaries are defined as hourly, weekly and monthly pay that employees receive for their work in an organization. It is on the basis of these that employees judge the fairness of the pay 6/7/12

Definition:

Wages salary administration is essentially the application systematic approach to the problem of ensuring that employees are paid in a logical, equitable and fair manner.

Wages:

Indian Labour Organization (ILO) defined the term wage as The remuneration paid by the employer for the services of hourly, daily, weekly and for nightly employees. It also means that remuneration paid to production and maintenance or blue collar employees.

Salary:

The term salary is defined as the remuneration paid to the clerical and managerial personnel 6/7/12 employed on monthly or annual basis.

Concept of Different Wages


1.Minimum Wages :

It is the amount of remuneration, which is just sufficient to enable an average worker to fulfill his entire obligation
2. Fair Wage:

Workers performing work of equal skill, difficulty or unpleasantness should receive equal or fair wages.
3. Living Wage:

The fair wage committee observed Living Wages should enable the male either to provide for himself and his family, (not only) the bare essentials of food, clothing and shelter.

Methods of Payments
1. Time wage system 2. Piece wage system.

Time Wage System :

It is the oldest system of remuneration labor under the day-work system of wages the employer buys the time of the worker I.e. the worker is guaranteed a definite sum of money for a specified period of his working time the unit of time bought may vary from one hour tone year.

Piece Wage System :

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

Ashta Liners Company is a private Ltd.company. From the collected information from the interviews taken of workers analyze the following information. The company provides various allowances to their permanent as well as seasonal worker. The company paid Bonus 8.33 % of the workers total year salary. The organization paid HRA 5%, DA 16% of their Basic wages. The organization also paid medical allowances when any problem creates, as per workman compensation act.

Above table shows that out of total respondents 30% employees express that the need of sound wages and salary administration is for the purpose to attract the employees. And Remaining 30% and 40% of the employees says that this requirement is for motivate employees and increase production in their organization.

FINDINGS

From the overall study I found same important points that are as follows.

1. In a company the wages are paid to seasoned workers and salaries are paid to permanent workers. 2. Organization pays Human Resource Allowances 5% of their Basic wages. 3. The company pays bonus 8.33% of the workers total years salary as per the government Index decided. 4. The company also pays the Medical allowances as per workman compensation act, when any problems create. 6/7/12

SUGGESTION
1. In the factory some workers are working in a dangerous place so they should be provided by safety equipments. 2. Some workers are not satisfied with their wages because they cannot meet their familys basic needs. So the management should take consideration of their workers problem. 3. The factory should give more attention towards the housing facilities

CONCLUSION

From the study of wages and salary administration in Ashta Liners Pvt. Ltd., I conclude the company adopts government wage policy for deciding wage rate. From that majority of workers are satisfied and some are unsatisfied. The environment in all levels of management of organization is very healthy. The organization is ISO 9001-200 certified organization and also achieves the safety award 2003, in Sangli
