1.Start Blocking
(Engine does not take START command) Possible Reasons:
1a. Turning Gear is engaged 1b. Pre Lub Oil pressure is less than 0.5 bar 1c. HT Water Temp is less than 50 deg C 1d. Problem with control circuit

2. Alarms !!!!

2A. Water systems Alarm!

2Aa. HT Water temp High. Greater than 100 deg C

2Ab. HT/LT Water Low pressure Less than 2 bar

2B. Lub oil system Alarms !

2Ba. Low Lub Oil pressure Less than 3.5 bar 2Bb.High Lub Oil temperature Higher than 80 deg C

2C. Nozzle Oil system Alarm!

2Ca. Low Nozzle Oil pressure Less than 2 bar 2Cb. Low Nozzle Oil temperature Less than 95 deg C 2Cc. High Nozzle Oil temperature Higher than 145 deg C

2D.Generator System Alarm!

2Da. High DE Bearing temperature. Higher than 80 deg C 2Db. High NDE Bearing temperature Higher than 80 deg C

2E. General System Alarms!

2Ea. Low Expansion Tank level

2Eb. High Charge Air temperature Higher than 75 deg C

2Ec. Low Start Air Pressure Less than 18 bar 2Ed. High Leak fuel level Excessive leakage in Hot box

3.Engine de-rating
If the de-rating On Alarm comes , then the possible reasons could be :

3A. Engine is over-loaded

3B. High Charge Air temperature

3C. High Ambient temperature 4C.Low H.T.Water temperature

4. Engine shut-down
Engine shut-down lamp will get ON and Engine will Stop immediately in case of:

4A. High HT Water temperature. > 105 0 C 4B. Low Lub oil pressure . < 2.5 bar
4C. High Charge Air temp. > 85 0 C 4D. High Gen DE/NDE Bearing temp. > 90 0 C 4E. High Engine Bearing temp.> 1200 C 4F. Engine Overspeed 4G.Gen Earth Fault protection Relay activate

4H. Gen Differential protection Relay activate

5. Engine tripping
Tripping lamp will get ON in case :

5A. Over-Voltage Relay activate 5B. Reverse Power Relay activate 5C. Over-current Relay activate 5D. Short- circuit Relay activate
DG breaker will get OPEN , Voltage will come to Zero. Engine will run for sometime ( 1-5 min) before stopping

DESPEMES
What it does ?
Measure engine & Turbochargers speed, we check / see on rpm-meter. Prevent over-speed by holding fuel racks
through Fuel-limiter upto 620 rpm plus 2 seconds

Control 3 operations at different speeds

300 rpm >> Pre-lub oil pump, Water pre-heater, Gen: Space- heaters control 560 rpm>> Excitation control 880 rpm>> Over speed signal control
