General overview of the program As a result of INTER-AGENCY MEETING OF PARTNER STAKEHOLDERS REGRADING THE PROLIFERATION OF STREET CHILDREN/ FAMILIES IN METRO MANILA, Last April 2011 at the OSEC Conference Room, DSWD-NCR, Legarda Manila City. nUnder the SAGIP KALINGA PROGRAM a Comprehensive Program for Street Children,Street Families and IPs,especially Bajaus was concieved STRATEGIES: 1.IGP & skills training, capital assistance,PES 2.center for life skills training and literacy activities 3.provision of shelter 4.access to other basic services OBJECTIVE Zero SC/fam by the end of 2011 on 10 critical areas homeless street families and bajaus are provided with permanent shelter and are given access to income generating opportunity TARGET Street Children & Street Families BADJAUS & other Indigenous people (IPs) TARGET AREA Metro manila

Accomplishment
1. 45 Street Children were beneficiaries of EAP (given P 2,000.oo each) 2. - LIVELIHOOD - 36 Relatives (Brother/sister/mother/father) of Street Children, were given 30 days income opportunity thru DSWD Cash for Work Cash for training Program ( later on will be recommended to 4 Ps) 3.15 Mothers were given Capital assistance P 10,000 each 4. 98 STREET DWELLERS WERE RESCUED FROM June to November 2011
13 were at SDC 10 were at Pacwood 75 were return to the family, to other institutions/LGUs
Project Description
DSWD NCR Sagip Kalinga Program, informed that 5,385 street children were identified and 438 were rescued, 168 of this are Mangyan and Badjao, during the head count done on December 2010 in Metro Manila
Purpose/Priorities/Objectives
Zero Street.children &family by the end of 2011 on critical area (Madrigal Ave. cor AlabangZapote Rd) homeless street families and bajaus are provided with permanent shelter and are given access to income generating opportunity Strategies: IGP & skills training, capital assistance,PES center for life skills training and literacy activities provision of shelter access to other basic services Camping Project Rescue operation provided with diff sessions, to discourage to be back to street, parents will be given PES, parental capability,identify an activity center to go..instead on the street Day/night minding center for street children, a 24 hrs facility, provides temporary care and safety for young children whose parent working at night. Liberating Indigenous People From Indignity (Badjau Resettlement Project) Aims to contribute in the mainstreaming of IP (badjau families) in the development process through the conduct of social preparation and resettlement for displaced Badjaus in Metro Manila,

Key Implementations
1. Mayor Aldrin San Pedro had a meeting With Business stablishments , Madrigal Business Park Security Guards, Bgy. Ayala Alabang Police, PAMI( Mss. Gina Araneta of the PAMI (Phil. Association of Museum Inc. and Ayala Alabang Residence. ) etc. posting of tarpaulin on Anti Mendicancy Law inside the subdivision and inclusion in AAVAS news letter regarding article on PD1563 to encourage the homeowners association not to give alms directly to street children ( we can see now on corners of Madirgal Ave.,Acacia Ave. Alabang Hills, some signages on Guard Houses visible to motorist) was intensified.
Volunteers were tapped to help on monitoring street dwellers, student OJT from PLMun, (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa) Mothers of Street children, and some Barangay Health workers Augmentation of DSWD-NCR ( Welfare Assistant) , Staffs (Glocel ) etc.. Profiling

All of the above key implementation are easy to replicate As other LGUs had already replicate: 1.Putting up of signages 2. 24/7 on call duty , for the turn-over of Street dwellers to holding center (Muntinlupa Social Development Center)
