You note that he is pale, diaphoretic (perspiring), and restless. His wife tells you that her husband has been feeling this way for the last 3 hours. 1. Listen actively.
Help to identify what the person is feeling. Put yourself on others shoes. Be honest. Do not tell a person not to feel.

Be genuine. Use your ingenuity. Be aware of the cultural differences that may

affect meaning and understanding. Maintain client confidentiality. Use communication techniques. Focus on info needed to formulate an individualized plan of care. Know your role and limitation.

Nursing is a caring profession. As a unique profession, it is practiced with an earnest concern for the amount of care and the science of health. The profession involves a humanistic blend of scientific knowledge and holistic nursing practice.
