motivation
- goal: preliminary and detail design of two types of UPAs, one for solar and one for wind power generation and distribution; - technology profile: innovative multidisciplinary design and analysis of the airship with a structural topology optimization approach and offshelve auxiliary technologies, expected to benefit from further advancements on materials and energy storage
basic - non tethered robotic airships - unmanned power airships, UPAs concept (*): organized in smart swarm carrousels, maximize the power supply capacity at minimal use and impacts upon territory and biosystem (different from onshore and offshore). (*): international patent pending - unmanned power airships; key- large-scale energy generation and distribution; words: - solar and wind power; - topology optimization; - multidisciplinary analysis and optimization applicati ons:
International patent 5/11/12 pending Alva Alta, all IP rights
the UPAs concept should accommodate different missions/ applications, whereby the present work focus on two exemplary embodiments ;

optimizati on:
nonlinear multivariable optimization using interior point algorithm interior point approach consists of solving a sequence of approximate minimization problems usisng a barrier function original problem:
min f (x), subject to h(x) g(x) 0 and
x
each iteration uses one of two main types of steps a direct step in (x,s) that attempts to solve the KKT equations a conjugate gradient step using trust region
