INTRODUCTION
One of the major challenge in rural India is the dismal state of Rural Electrification. More than one lakh villages still remain to be electrified. In some cases the grid is far away. Electrified villages do not receive reliable & quality supply. Poor power quality causes data loss and data errors in communication net-work equipments.

Two of the most common alternate power solutions DG Set Transportation, storage, pilferage, high cost of diesel pose major hurdles in operating DG sets. Causes pollution (environmental & noise) Inverter-Battery Systems Low voltage and intermittent supply of electricity renders inverter-battery ineffective and battery doesnt gets fully charged due to unreliable supply of grid.
Environmental Issues
Diesel consumption 2 billion liters every year generating 9 million tones of Carbon. West Bengal Government has issued notification banning installation & operation of diesel generators at mobile towers in order to curb air & noise pollution. Other States may follow soon.

DESIGN REQUIREMENT
CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT ENGINEERING REQUIEMENT
SMOOTH TRANSITION. EASY TO CARRY & FLURISTIC APPEARANCE. SELF SUSTAINING & HIGH EFFICIENCY. WORTH OF HIS MONEY
SLOW ROTATION & MINIMAL JERK. LIGHT WEIGHT , COMPACT & ELEGANT . FUNCTION AUTONOMOUSLY HIGHLY RELIABLE WITH MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY.
WORKING
Microcontroller drives the stepper motor to track the position of sun. Initiate dusk & dawn operation & connect the load or battery accordingly. Display the system status on lcd.. Set timer when the battery is fully charged to avoid overcharge damage.
ADVANTAGES
Solar power is available everywhere free of cost Store it as much as you can. One time investment with lifetime enjoyment. Reduced electricity bill and dependency on electricity. The solar battery chargers are perfect for rural areas where theres still no electricity poles. There are no harmful emissions from a solar battery charger. Hence, they are environmental friendly. Suits both off-grid and on-grid applications. Saves from high-running cost of generator
DISADVANTAGES
Initial cost of the equipment used to harness the suns energy is high. Pollution can be a disadvantage to solar panels, as pollution can degrade the efficiency of photovoltaic cells. Solar energy is only useful when the sun is shining. During the night, your expensive solar equipment will be useless, however the use of solar battery chargers can help to reduce the effects of this disadvantage. The location of solar panels can affect performance of solar charger, due to possible obstructions from the surrounding buildings or landscape.

Final Thought
Argument that sun provides power only during the day is countered by the fact that 70% of energy demand is during daytime hours. At night, traditional methods can be used to generate the electricity. Goal is to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels. Currently, 75% of our electrical power is generated by coal-burning and nuclear power plants. pollution free, indefinitely sustainable.
