Overpressure valve or Expansion Valve

Overpressure valves install on the air outflow blast valve to meter the outgoing air. They work with the filter to create and maintain overpressure. We have two types of overpressure valves: static and adjustable. The adjustable overpressure valve should have a differential pressure gauge installed in the shelter to display the overpressure. This gauge requires a sampling tube to penetrate the wall or ceiling to sample the outside air pressure. We can also mount this gauge right on the inside of the blast door using a built in sampling tube.

How does the OPV Valve work

Its very simple, there is device (a plastic ball, rubber pad on brass piston or similar), pushed by a spring (the tension on the spring can be adjusted) against an exit hole in the OPV. The exit hole normally has a tube routing excess water back to the tank. The water from the pump is able to exit the machine via the hole in the OPV valve, as long as it has sufficient pressure to overcome the device used to block the OPV exit hole.
