Create The Law of Clarity

The clearer you are about your goals and objectives, the more efficient and effective you will be in achieving them. Clarity accounts for probably 80 percent of success and happiness. People with clear, written goals accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine.
Dr.T.V.Rao MD 21

The Problem is Severe

By some estimates, people waste about 2 hours per day. Signs of time wasting: Messy desk and No idea what to study

Cant find things

Miss appointments, need to reschedule them late and/or unprepared for meetings

Volunteer to do things other people should do Tired/unable to concentrate

Saying yes ???

Saying yes to one thing means saying no to something else.
Or, at least, it means having less time for the things youve already committed to do.

Does it fit into your goals?

Dont fall victim to thinking you must take all career opportunities presented.

Take some time before you decide.

Dont do it out of guilt

Say yes or no to the task, not the person.
Dr.T.V.Rao MD 23

Learn when to say NO

You cant do everything Remain consistent to your goals
Dr.T.V.Rao MD 24

Never do today what you can put off till tomorrow!
Forms of procrastination:

Ignoring the task, hoping it will go away Underestimating how long it will take

Overestimating your abilities and resources

Telling yourself that poor performance is okay Doing something else that isnt very important Believing that repeated minor delays wont hurt you Becoming paralyzed when having to make choices

How to Overcome Procrastination

Win the mental battle by committing to being on time. Set and keep deadlines.
Organize, schedule & plan.

Divide a big job into smaller ones.

Reward yourself when youre done.

Tell your friends and room mates to remind you of priorities and deadlines. Learn to say no to time wasters.

Keep a Dairy of Day to Day Events

Evaluate how you are spending your time. Keep a diary for three days to track tasks. Look for time that could be used more wisely, freeing up time to spend exercising or with family and friends.

WHEN MAKING A SCHEDULE, BE SURE TO

Plan Study Time

Whenever possible, study during the day Quickly review material after class Set small goals & deadlines for big projects Distribute work on big projects spread it out Plan blocks of time to study Use distributed study (Minimum of 15
minutes per subject EVERY DAY)

From your goals, set priorities.

Whats important and what isnt? What order do things need to be done in?

Once you know what your priorities are, you need to plan out a schedule for the semester, the week and the day.
Planning may seem hard at first, but the more you do it, the easier and more natural it gets.

Rest and Relaxation are Foundation for Efficiency

Get plenty of exercise and sleep. Improved focus and concentration help increase efficiency, so you can complete tasks in less time.

TIME lost Never Gained

Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back.

ONE DAY, ask a daily wage laborer with kids to feed.

ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the train. ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident. ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.
