NFC

Near field communication (NFC)

Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity(around 5-cm). NFC is based on RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology.

NFCs acceptance into everyday life is largely due to the combined efforts of NOKIA,PHILIPS and SONY who founded the NFC Forum in 2004.
NFC operates at transfer rates ranging from 106 kbit/s to 424 kbit/s

BLUETOOTH

o NFC and Bluetooth are both short-range communication technologies which are integrated into mobile phones. o NFC operates at slower speeds than Bluetooth, but consumes far less power and doesnt require pairing.

o With NFC, instead of performing manual configurations to identify devices, the connection between two NFC devices is automatically established quickly: in less than a tenth of a second o NFC has a shorter range, which reduces the likelihood of unwanted interception.

o Communication is also possible between an NFC device and an unpowered NFC chip, called a "tag.
