Project Time Management (pg 129 PMBOK)

Project Time Management includes the processes required to accomplish timely completion of the project.

Logical relationships (pg 138 PMBOK)

Finish-to-Start Activity A must finish before Activity B can start
Construction and landscaping

Start-to-Start Activity A must start before Activity B can start

Documentation and Editing

Finish-to-Finish Activity A must finish before Activity B can finish

Testing and documentation

Start-to-Finish Activity A must start before Activity B can finish

Dependency Determination
(pg 139 PMBOK)

Mandatory Dependency
(Hard Logic)

Discretionary Dependency
(Soft Logic, Preferred logic, Preferential logic)

External Dependency

Leads and Lags (pg 140 PMBOK)

When a successor activity starts a week earlier instead of its actual start date, e.g. Starting documentation 2 weeks prior to the product prototype. (finish to start with a 2 week lead.) When an activity starts after a delay. Waiting for 3 days for concrete to dry before erecting the frame (Finish to start with 3 day lag)
