The word-Islam comes from Salima yuslimu istislaam, the meaning is obedient .

The other yaslamu-salaam, which means safe, prosperous, or peace. According to the Arabic language, Islam said fraction comprises: islamul wajh (sincere surrender to God), istislama (subject totally to God), salaamah or saliim (pure and clean), salaam (peace survived), and silm (quiet and peaceful .) All those terms are used in the Qur'an such as the following verses.

And who better religion than the people who willingly gave herself to God, while he was doing good, and he followed the religion of Abraham, the upright? And God took Abraham for his. (An-Nisa ': 125)

Do they look for another religion of Allah's religion, but to Him surrender all things in heaven and on earth, both with love and forced and they returned only to Allah. (Ali Imran: 83)

Kami tidak mengutus engkau, melainkan sebagai rahmat bagi alam semesta (QS. Al Anbiya: 107)

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam was sent to bring the teachings of Islam, then Islam is rahmatan lil'alamin, Islam is a mercy for all mankind.

According from language, : grace means softness that is combined with a sense of pity (See Lisaanul Arab, Ibn Mandzur). Or in other words can be interpreted by the grace of love. So, the coming of Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is a form of love of God to all mankind.

According to Ibn Qayyim Al Jauziyyah in Tafseer Ibn al-Qayyim: "The opinion is more correct in interpreting this verse is that grace here is more general. In this issue, there are two interpretations: First: The universe in general have benefited with the coming of Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Secondly: Islam is mercy for every human being, but those who believe receive this grace and benefit the world and the Hereafter. While the unbelievers refuse. So for those infidels, Islam still say grace for them, but they are reluctant to accept. As if to say 'This is the medicine for a sick so and so'. If only so and so did not drink it, the drug is still said to medicine "

Human beings are social beings as well as individuals.


As an individual creature he has a unique character, that differ from one another (even if it is the result of cloning), with a free mind and his will. And as a social creature he needs another human being, requires a group - in its present form at least - who acknowledge its existence, and at its maximum - the group in which he may rely upon people need togetherness in life.

Allah SWT says:

"Are those who divide the grace of your Lord? We have determined between them their livelihood in the life of the world, and We have exalted some of them over others some degree, for some they can use some of the other. And grace your Lord better than what they collect. (Az-Zukhruf: 32)

In this regard, Allah says: It means: "Verily the Believers are brothers, therefore make peace between the two brothers and fear Allah, that Allah may receive mercy. (Al Hujurat: 10) Also in a hadist of Ibn Umar ra narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, the Messenger of Allah said: It means: "The Muslim is a brother to other Muslims. He did not let it cruel nor tyrannized. "

From proposition Naqli above, we can conclude that the fellow Muslims and fellow believers are brothers, where awareness of this course will provide the following consequences. Explicit mention of brotherhood among fellow Muslims (and believers) in the Qur'an and Hadith indicates that it is something that needs to be considered by the Muslims.

The lowest level is salamus shadr (net soul) from hasud feelings, hate, envy and the causes of hostility / argument. The next level is love. HUMAN BEINGS AS A SOCIAL


Social activities is indeed a call for Islam to be implemented so that social cohevitas awake them by considering the following matters; 1. Friendship 2. Glorifying guest 3. Respect neighbors 4. Religious visit each other 5. Concerned with social activities. 6. Providing social assistance.

1. Friendship
Islam encourage friendship between family members both near and far, whether or not a mahram. Especially against both parents. Islam even categorizes acts of "termination of friendship" is the major sins.

"Not go to heaven those who break their friendship" (Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim)

2. Glorifying guest
Customers in Islam has a very respectable position. And respect the guests included in the indication of the faithful.

"... Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him glorify his guest" (Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim)

3. Respect neighbors
It is also an indicator of whether someone is faithful or not. What can be done to glorify their neighbors, including: - Maintain the rights of neighbors - No annoying neighbors - Doing well and respected him - Listen to them - Teach them and pray for them,ect.

"... Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day let him glorify his neighbor" (Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim)

4. Religious visit each other.


Prophet Muhammad, often religious visit to his companions. He was never religious visit Ubaidah Qois bin Sa'd bin at his home and prayed: "O God, Pour Your blessings and Your mercy for the family of Saad bin Ubadah". 4. Religious visit each other.


"Abu Hurairah RA. Said: Rasulullah said: There is a pilgrimage to his friend in a village, then God sent an angel (with a human form) block in the middle of the course, and when met, the angel asked : about where are you? He replied : I'll go on a pilgrimage to a friend because God, in the village. Then angel asked : Do you feel indebted to him or to repay his kindness? He replied : No, just simply love him for Allah. The angel said : I am the messenger of Allah unto you, that God's love to you as you love to your friend because of God "(Narrated by Muslim).

5. Concerned with social activities


People who are concerned with the activities of those around them, and patiently deal with risks that may be encountered, such as ridicule, insults, and public apathy, is more than the person originally been reluctant to deal with risks that may be facing, so he chose to isolate themselves and did not show his face in front of audiences. "A believer who mingle with others and be patient with their problems better than the believer who will not get along and are impatient with their problems" (Narrated by Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi, and Ahmad).

6. Providing social assistance


Weak people get a high enough attention in the teachings of Islam. We are commanded to stop it. Even people who did not occurred to her to help the weak, or encourage others to do this noble charity said to be people who reject religion.

"Do you know people who reject religion? That's the one who rebuked the orphans, and do not recommend feeding the poor "(Al Maa'un: 1-3).

RELATIONSHIP IN EACH BELIEVERS


Brotherhood In Islam The essence of brotherhood located on the affection displayed form of attention, caring, intimate relationships and feel same bad destiny. The prophet describes the relationship of brotherhood in hadits which means "A believer(mukmin) to another believer (mukmin) is like one body, if one member of the body injured, then the whole body will feel his fever.

Diversity that is making us have to constantly build relationship with others. Do not let the differences hinder us to establish a fraternity, because of the brotherhood, we can be better prepared to live in a society. Moreover brotherhood that exists among Muslims, which we used to know by name ukhuwah Islamiyah. It has been taught by the Prophet.

Islam makes the brotherhood in Islam and faith as the basis for the activities of the struggle to uphold the religion of Allah on earth. Ukhuwah Islamiyah will bear a sense of unity and calm the human heart. Many other brotherhood not because of Islam it will not be strong and everlasting. Islamic brotherhood is forged by Allah is the strongest bond unparalleled.

In ukhuwah islamiyah, there is a process that must be observed by mankind. The process in this ukhuwah islamiyah will create stronger brotherhood

The processes that exist in ukhuwah Islamiyah are:


Ta'aruf

Tafahum

Ta'awun

Takaful

Implement process ta'aruf (know each other)


The existence of interactions can be more familiar with individual characters. The first introductory course on physical appearance (Jasadiyyan), such as body, face, style of dress, speech, behavior, occupation, education, etc.. Furthermore, the interaction continues to the introduction of thought (Fikriyyan). This is done by dialogue, a view of a problem, the tendency to think, figure idol who admired / followed, etc.. And the last one is familiar with the introduction of psychiatric (Nafsiyyan) who emphasized the effort to understand the psychology, character, emotion, and behavior. Every human being must have its own unique and distinct mental state that used effects. ukhuwah islamiyah process will be disrupted if not familiar with this mental character.

Implement process tafahum (mutual understanding)


Mutual understanding is key of ukhuwah Islamiyah. Without tafahum then ukhuwah will not run. Process ta'aruf / recognition can be programmed but the process can be done naturally tafahum simultaneously with the passage of ukhuwah.

With mutual understanding, each individual would be easy to know the strengths and weaknesses and accept differences. From here will be born ta'awun (helping each other) in the fraternity. Ukhuwah can not start if a person always wants to be understood and not try to understand the other. Mutual understanding of the situation conducted by pooling the hearts, minds and deeds. God was the one who unites the human heart.

Implement At-Ta'awun (helping each other)


If mutual understanding has been born there arose a sense of ta'awun. Ta'awun can be done with care (praying each other), thinking (discuss and advise each other), and charity (mutual help). Help each other in goodness is happiness itself. Humans are social creatures who need to interact and need help from others. Togetherness will be worth when we held a mutual aid assist

Implement process takaful (mutual bear/same bad destiny)


Takaful is the highest level of ukhuwah. Many stories and hadits of Prophet SAW and his companions who showed the implementation of this takaful. Like when a friend of thirst and provide water rations to other friends who moan thirst as well, but after being fed, the water was given again to another friend, keep on doing so until all die in a state of thirst. They put his own brother than himself (itsar). This is the main characteristic of ukhuwah Islamiyah.

Benefits of Ukhuwah Islamiyah


Many benefits can we enjoy with braided ukhuwah islamiyah strongly. We will feel a more harmonious community life. Differences will not cause any conflict; it will make our life more beautiful. The level of social inequality in society will also be eroded by itself. This is because the spirit that unites us in ukhuwah islamiyah.

The Relationship Between other Religious


Relations between Muslims and other faiths is not forbidden by Islamic law, except to work together in matters of Aqeedah and worship. Both issue is the internal rights of Muslims which are not allowed disturbed by other believers, but in the social aspect of society islam can make cooperation.

Tolerance
As a bearer of religious tolerance Prophet appreciate human rights. He advocated tolerance among other people. But unlike in maintaining aqidah. When he was invited by the pagans to exchange the time, place and turns to worship god, he replied firmly: "LAKUM DNUKUM WALIYADN" (Religion you for you and my religion for me).

In life, the Holy Prophet had great respect for kafir. He is very wise and patient when wronged and betrayed his people. Occasionally Prophet reprimanded by his friend when Jews mourn dead; "Is not he Jewish?", ask his friend. "Yes! But I really appreciate the humanity ", replied the Prophet. Even when the Prophet was asked about giving material assistance to non-Muslims, "Are we allowed to give assistance to the Jews?" Ask a friend to the Prophet. "ya, because they are also creatures of God, and God will accept our sedekah", answered the Messenger of Allah said, proud of his companions initiative.

Give each other, respect and forgiveness, especially to fellow Muslims is an attitude that must be exemplified by the Prophet. Prophet is always inside with a diverse society and able to protect, but still maintain dignity. The Prophet also like to make peace with the Jewish people if they want to make peace. Allah says: "And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and put the trust in Allah. Verily He is the Hearing, the Knowing. " (QS.Al-Anfal: 61)

In lahiriyah, religious tolerance in Indonesia is the hope of the nations in the world. It may be tolerance religion is the key to world peace. Where the condition of the adherents of the religions of the world forget the principles of tolerance and the teachings of other people, even Muslims are encouraged to reinforce cooperation between religious communities. With tolerance is expected to realize the welfare and safety of people in the world and can exist survival of Islam and his people. Allah says: "Allah does not forbid you to do good and be fair to people who are not force you because of religion and not (also) expel you from your land." (QS.Al-Mumtahanah) However, tolerance could not come only from Muslims only. Another race is also expected to appreciate to shape the future of a better nation.

Pluralism comes from English that is objective condition in a society that includes some groups that are different each other, namely in economic stratification, ideology, religious, or the back ground of ethnic. Pluralism is a diversity in a unity form.

Pluralism in islam is known as one dominance of Allah that can not be replaced.

Dan di antara tanda-tanda kekuasaan-Nya ialah menciptakan langit dan bumi dan berlain-lainan bahasamu dan warna kulitmu. Sesungguhnya pada yang demikan itu benar-benar terdapat tanda-tanda bagi orang-orang yang Mengetahui .

Goal of pluralism is to make easier every personals, clans, nations to do social relationship and to know each other.

Hai manusia, Sesungguhnya kami menciptakan kamu dari seorang lakilaki dan seorang perempuan dan menjadikan kamu berbangsa - bangsa dan bersuku-suku supaya kamu saling kenal-mengenal. Sesungguhnya orang yang paling mulia diantara kamu disisi Allah ialah orang yang paling taqwa diantara kamu. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha mengetahui lagi Maha Mengenal .

On one side of the plurality of religions in Indonesia reflects the beauty and richness of Indonesian homeland. Pluralism allows anyone to see and to learn different things from each other. The interaction between each other which has different religions and belief can be done. However, on the other hand the context of religious plurality by itself was not necessarily a good thing. There can be found in the things or elements that are not good, including from within the religion itself (religious institutions, mission activities, leadership) that allow the tension and even conflict. In addition there are also non-religious factors (economic, political, social, cultural), which also gave birth to hostility and religious conflict.

Indonesian history shows the plurality of religion is often a "field" or "trigger" of things - the frightening and cause suffering, strife, hostility, violence and even murder. As a result, hundreds of houses of worship were damaged, destroyed and burned. The victim fell, public facilities were damaged, incalculable material losses and left a deep trauma and difficult recovery. Events that happened in Ambon is one proof of "the history of bitter" about it.

Dialogue between religions becomes a concern at this time. It is caused by several things. First, the existential impacts existence which have a different religion and live together in a community. Second, ideologically, we have the vision and attention to other religions. In this context everyone has their views and concerns not only for their own religion, but also against people of other faiths. Views on other religions was not forever stained positive outlook, often colored by a negative outlook. Many factors cause it to happen. That's what often makes the plurality of religions in Indonesia not only as property but also often cause discord, dissension, strife and conflict.

If so, the common task of religious community is how to establish good communication between religious people and make religious plurality can be an occasion where every religious community can be enriched and enrich each other. Trying to leave the attitude of arrogance and intolerance that many occurred in the history and critically correcting exclusivism attitude in all religions. This is the challenge of religious communities in Indonesia. Therefore, an open attitude and dialogue together have built and developed. Dialogue is important to do, because the dialogue and attitude of willingness to accept differences in a context of mutual respect and appreciation to produce mature faith in all parties and be a strong catalyst for good. If this is done with sympathy and respect for the integrity of others, it will can lead to spiritual development and will enrich all parties and bring "prosperity" to humans.

Indonesian society is time to have a new paradigm in reality pluralism, especially in religion. Religious diversity should be to serve as a source of strength can be synergy in dealing with humanitarian issues that weight today. Humanitarian issues such as poverty, ignorance, gender, inequality, and vulnerability of religious conflicts must be faced together. In an effort to build a togetherness that is necessary inter-religious dialogue. With this dialog, create a good communication and a shared commitment to building a life together that can provide prosperity to every religious community.
