Location and Approach

The site is located on the 30 mtr wide road along the Maharajganj UP Delhi border in Ghaziabad.It is slightly off the extremely busy highway and is surrounded by settings of Corporate Buildings and serves to cater to the residential area around it. INTRODUCTION: This mall is one of the shopping malls in the National Capital Region (NCR). It contains studios of many famous designers in Delhi apart from housing regular apparel brands. This mall also has an IMAX theater, the second in India and fifth in Asia. It is basically a shopping megamall, multi cineplex, amusement park, food plaza, night spot, corporate center and a star hotel rolled into one. The Pacific Mall at Delhi has a huge atrium and wide frontage. These combine with a broad lobby and remarkable height to base ratio to create a feeling of spaciousness . It has 3 floors including the basement. Covering about 5,00,000 square feet and designed by renowned architect Hafeez Contractor, the mall is a beautiful edifice. The total investment in mall is around 75 crore.

This complex is at about 1km away from from Anand Vihar Bus Station and East Delhi Mall. This place is about 10 kms from nizammudin railway station and is well connected by buses and taxis. PLOT AREA: The plot is a regular polygon shaped piece of land of total area 50,000 sqft. ground coverage is around 70% of the total plot. The total height of the building is 21 m accommodating total of three floors above ground level and one basement exclusive of building height.

Entrance to the mall is through 2 gates, one for four wheeler and other for pedestrian entry which also serves as an exit for the four wheeler. There are two main facades of the building. six escalators as well as two lift have been provided for vertical movement taking into consideration the public convenience. Two ramps have been provided for vehicular movement to and from the basement. Landscaped area consists of just a small green patch in the front. The front faade has a small vacant space for temporary stalls for seasonal stuff.

Basement floor: This floor is basically used for parking of cars, various types of services rooms and water tanks are provided. Parking is in the basement and can park around 250 cars and 1500 sqft area for retail. Double height dg set room is located at this floor which consists of five generators a big electrical panel,four pups and five big oil tanks. Pumps room is located at this floor at which five water tanks placed. Ground floor: The building complex can be accessed from two entrances. The retail outlets starts from this floor. This floor consists of 35 shops. A long narrow entrance leads to a huge rectangular shaped atrium. At the centre of the atrium a coffee shop is provided. The roof of an atrium is covered with transparent pvc fiber laminated sheet for proper natural light. Provision of lifts, escalators, staircase and toilets are there in this floor. Floor to floor height is 3.50m. Space has been allocated for the children play area and display area.

First floor: This floor contains 33 shops. Remaining layout is same as ground floor plan. It has restaurants and a music store. Each restaurant has a toilet facilities. A service corridor which ends to the service core is provided behind the restaurants.

Second floor: Theatre level: This foyer is at a level of +14505 mm and is accessible from this floor. It is main defining feature for the elevation of the building. There is a huge long entrance foyer to three halls of size.

Auditorium: There are three auditoriums provided at the same level with an addition of 3d theatre. All these are accessible from the level of +14505mm. Auditorium 1. The total size of the hall is 21.30x19.00m ie 405 sq.m Capacity: 270 seats There are 15 seats in front row on each side(8 lines) and 10 seats each towards the back rows(6 lines). Screen size 15.8mx6.75m(the screen is concave shaped) Auditorium 2: The total size of the hall is 16.6x19.8m Capacity: 205 seats 13 seats in front row on each side (5 lines) and 8 on one side and 8 on other side(6 lines). Screen size: 13.4x 6.25 The screen is concave shaped.

Auditorium 3: The total size of hall is 17.6x13.4m Capacity:115 9 seats on one side and 10 on other side(4 lines) and 6 on one side and 7 on other side(7 lines) Screen size 12.4x6.25m The screen is concave shaped. Seating arrangement: The seating is the conventional type, having two side aisles and a cross aisle at centre. Seat size: 22x22 this is standard size. Clear walking space between two rows of seats is 1 6. The total width of a step is 3 6 with varying riser starting from 140mm to 323mm. Entry/exits to the theatre: All the theatres are accessible for the auditorium foyer. There are three exits provides two at lower level and another at level of central aisle.

Projection room: Projection room is at level of +20015.0mm. It is a single room for all the three halls in the linear fashion with a width of not more than 11 0. It gives the room a unanimous administration facility. Auditorium Acoustics: All the services are provided under roof. Glass wool is used as the basic element for carpets on floors and wall as a acoustic material. Gypsum false ceiling is provided with proper acoustic treatment.

Parking: Covered Parking is provided in the basement and semi covered parking in the front of the complex along a green patch. 4.05m wide ramp with a slope of 1:12 is provided for the movements of cars. 4.5mx 2.4m space is left for car parking with 5m wide driveway. 90 degree angle method is used for the parking of the cars. Services: Two fire water tanks and pump room is located at basement floor. Two fire escapes staircases are provided at each floor. Fire extinguisher are provides at suitable places in all the floors. Sprinklers and fire hydrants are provided throughout the complex. Smoke detectors, fire exit maps are provided at a regular interval. Fire resistant doors are used in theatres. Exhausts are provides to be used in the theatres areas

Air conditioning: The whole plaza is centrally air conditioned. Water chilled system is used as cooling medium. Air conditioning plant is located at upper basement floor. Three screw chillers are provided. Cooling towers are located at terrace to which water is fed through water tank. Heating coils with blowers are provided in order to provide hot conditioning air during winters. Electrical supply: Electrical room is provided at lower basement of the mall. DG room consists of 5 DG sets, 4 pumps for water supply to generators and a big electrical panel. Bus bar is provided at each floor. Lift room is provided at terrace level. All the electrical cables are provided within the duct.
