Religious tourism, also commonly referred to as faith tourism, is a form of tourism, whereby people of faith travel individually or in groups for pilgrimage, missionary, or leisure purposes

FINDINGS
Majority of respondents like to travel with their family to religious spots The most preferred pilgrim spot is sri harmandir sahib situated in Amritsar More than majority of the respondents travel yearly to religious places. People prefer religious tourism over other forms of tourism due to the spiritual peace of mind.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Development of accommodation facilities. Construction of heritage hotels. Constructing and maintaining infrastructure facilities i.e. ATM, clinics etc. Incentives and exemtions to tour operators for promoting religious tourism. Improvement in hygiene facilities.
CONCLUSION
The need of people is concentrated on the peace of mind which is derived from such places and the expectations are focused on the ease in transportation and hotel facility with the safety from criminal elements. . It is helpful for the country as a whole as it assists in cultural revival.
