What is WLB
Meaningful daily Achievement and Enjoyment in each of four life quadrants: Work, Family, Friends and Self Work Life Balance consists of the implementation of working arrangements and policies which assist workers in combining employment with other aspects of their lives. Employers can benefit from these policies too as they can help to develop a more committed and productive workforce.

Roles and Work-life Balance


People have formal roles at home and at work.
Example: employee, manager, team leader, union steward, parent, spouse, child.

Roles may also be informal at home and at work.


Example: chair of organization charity drive, pitcher for office softball team, PTA president, scout leader, etc.
