22 milions of people play football in all the Europe. 50-60% of sport injuries in Europe are from football. For every match there are on the everage 60 takles. In the season 2007-2008 the Italian SERIE A counted 2500 injuries. - A study project of Uefa (2006) says that in professional teams there are on average 68 injuries for season. - A study project in USA (2002) says that the 13,5% of injuries regarded knee, 11,5 hankle.

- Injures in football are most often traumatics - Injures from excessive stress are between 9% and 34% - A study project of Uefa (2006) said that in the professional teams there are on average 68 injuries for season.

Knee hyperextension and/or internal rotation may result in an ACL tear. they could be consequence of contact (takle) or consequence of this kinds of movements (most common) : Planting and cutting - foot firmly on the ground followed by the leg (and body) turning one direction or the other.
