The Immaculate Conception

What is conception? The word conception comes from the word conceive which means to have a baby in a mothers tummy.

What does immaculate mean?

The word immaculate means pure, clean.

Who do you think is the baby?

Who is the Immaculate Conception?

On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, we remember the time when Mother Mary started to grow in the tummy of her mother, St. Anne.

What is pure in Mary? What can you find in her heart? Can you find any sin in a pure heart?

Why was Mary given a pure heart?

Mary was given a pure heart because God chose her to be the Mother of Jesus, the Son of God.

What does it take to be a Mother of God?

It takes one to have a pure heart to be a Mother of Jesus that is why God made Mary to be pure, to have a clean heart and free from sin.

When do we celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception?

December 8 is chosen by our Church leaders for all Catholics to celebrate the Immaculate Conception of Mary.

What does the Feast of the Immaculate Conception remind us to do?

On this feast, we are reminded that: 1. like Mary, we need to have a pure heart all the time 2. Mary is our example and that like her we can be with God in heaven

O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, did prepare a worthy dwelling place for Your Son, we ask You to make our hearts clean through her prayers. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
