What is enrichment?
Enrich- To improve the quality of: Enrichment- Enhancement, fortification, improvement

What is enrichment activity?

expand on students' learning in ways that differ from the methods used during the school day. Interactive and project-focused. Enhance a student's education by bringing new concepts to light or by using old concepts in new ways. Fun for the student, but they also impart knowledge.

They allow the participants to apply knowledge and skills stressed in school to real-life experiences.

What are the purposes of enrichment activities?

To inspire more children to study English. To encourage high standards of English. To stimulate creativity with regard to English. To support an informed debate amongst pupils about the application and direction which English both written and spoken - takes in our increasingly complex society, and will take in an increasingly complex and challenging future.

What is remedial activity?

One that is meant to improve a learning skill or rectify a problem area. Remedial instruction involves using individualized teaching of students who are experiencing difficulties in specific subject areas.

Remedial instruction might be taught individually or in groups and targets academic weaknesses that may hinder learning.

Remedial activities teach basic skills that are the foundation for learning a subject in greater detail, and such skills must be learned before students can develop a detailed understanding of the topic of study.

Characteristics of remedial and enrichment activities

Worksheets are based on students ability. Worksheets are based on mastery-learning where the students have to master every level from bottom to reach the top level. The reasons to complete the worksheets are to identify students ability, level of understanding, their strengths and weaknesses.

 Teacher could use the worksheets as a testimony of students records of achievements or failure, other than examination papers.

The worksheets are based on English syllabus and both are created by teacher. These are modifications that you would add for students who complete the work early or who need more challenging work.
