Objectives of the project: To study 1. What is SOP and its elements? 2. Why it should be updated regularly? 3. Why it is important to the company? 4. What are benefits of the improved SOP to the organization, quality system, people and how it improves productivity?

What is SOP?
It is a quality tool which contains : Operating procedure for operator(what to do and how to do) Tooling and machining parameters Probable effect of deviation on the next and ultimately on end customer Maintenance schedule and tooling and safety instructions Cleaning procedures are also included as part of an SOP

PROJECT NO 2
Study and implementation of Loctite vibraseal 516 thread high viscosity insta-steel loctite sealant on different plugs on the engine to attain cost saving.

Description
Loctite is a brand of adhesives, sealants and surface treatments that include acrylic, anaerobic, cyanoacrylate, epoxy, hot melt, silicone, urethane and UV/light curing technologies. Loctite products are used in a variety of industrial.

Experimented Parts
Temperature sensor plug: Temperature sensor plug is used on the cylinder head end on the thermostat hosing to sense the temperature of water and give a signal accordingly.

Alternator return adaptor:Alternator return adaptor which is mounted on crack case is used to mount the alternator return hose which drains the oil from the alternator to oil sump.

Dip stick adaptor: Dip stick adaptor which is fitted on the crack case is used to fit the dip stick tube having a mounted nut which in turn is used to check the oil level in the engine.

Turbo return adaptor: Turbo return adaptor which is mounted on crack case is used to mount the turbo return hose which drains the oil from the turbo to oil sump

Crankcase end intake adaptor (Turbocharger): Crank case end inlet adaptor is used to connect the Eye-end of the inlet pipe to the crank case.

Turbo end inlet bolt: Turbo end inlet bolt is used to connect the eye end of the inlet pipe to the turbo charger.
