Technical Administration Department Latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer used Identical softwares used PCs attached to the primary Web server Standard 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connections used. Custom application was triggered Recording of elapsed time with date and time stamp 100 recordings, were done on the TriCities Our Campus! Home page.

Can the collected data be approximated by the normal distribution?

Mean Value = 12.8596 Median Value = 12.78

As median and mode though seem to be equal they are equal Interquartile range = Third quartile - first quartile = 15.03 - 10.97 = 4.06 Interquartile range = 1.24159 times the Standard Deviation. However, in the case of normal distribution it is 1.33 times.

Range = 19.87 It is equal to 6.076453 times the Standard Deviation.

In this case, Normal distribution is only 6 times the Standard deviation. Thus, the theoretical properties doesn't fit with the normal distribution graphical representation. The normal plot is not linear.

The box whisker plot also shows that data is right skewed.

Review and Evaluate the conclusions made by the Our Campus! Marketing department. Which conclusions are correct? Which ones are incorrect?

A 15-second download is less likely than a 14 or 13-second download. If we can strive to eliminate times greater than 22.7 seconds, then more times will fall within 3 standard deviations.

One time out of every 10 times, an individual user will experience a download time that is greater than 17.06 seconds. Since over 99 percent of download times fall within plus or minus 3 standard deviations, home page download process meets the Six Sigma benchmark for industrial quality.

Since the data is not normally distributed as per previous computations, we can falsify the first conclusion that 50 % of download times are less than the mean and 50 % download times are greater than the Mean.
Morever, all the conclusions drawn are falsified and not true, as the data is not normally distributed.

If Our Campus! Could improve the mean time by five minutes, how would the probabilities change?
