The font is chunky and large the magazine might use this as it relates to the genre of music by it standing out and also the font is used in basketball which also relates to the magazine as it is a American magazine. What has been done to display the photography and why? There is a single feature article photo of a artist, this might have been done as the magazine design uses the rule of thirds and wants the attention to mostly be on the one picture. Looking at the way the different features are displayed using colours, graphics, fonts etc., how are they separated into categories in terms of importance or function? The different features are displayed on the page by firstly the magazine only uses three colours and no more which makes the magazine look conventional and not too busy keeping it simple. The graphics that are used balance the magazine as it means less text can be used as if their was too much the cover would look like it has too much information. The fonts that are used are chunky and bold which stand out and tell the audience. The size of the font also decreases as you look down the magazine cover this could be because the most important aspects are at the top. The function of the magazine is good as it uses the rule of thirds well putting kickers to either side and a large masthead at the top of the page. The headline is right in the centre which allows the reader to see that second. What has been done to the text and images to keep the design consistent? The text is keeping the same font throughout the cover which balances the cover and doesnt make it look unprofessional or to busy. The text size is decided carefully as the most important aspects are larger than the smaller information. There is only one image used which doesnt make the magazine look too busy but simple and affective giving no more information than needed.
