CHALK.

Then students used PAPER ,

PENCIL and PAN.

Later hand held CALCULATORS came into

existence.

Today we still use pens, pencils and calculators. Now we have computers which make our lives even easier

Virtual education
Virtual
education refers to instruction in a learning environment where teacher and student are separated by time or space , or both, and the teacher provides course content through course management applications, multimedia resources, the internet , videoconferencing, etc.

Internet as a resource
In the past, teachers attempting a problem-based
curriculum felt the need to limit problems to those for which they had expertise or the local library had resources. Now the world wide web brings a seemingly endless amount of information on almost any subject , and it is possible for students to choose topics based on personal interest rather than availability of resources

Online education
There are many opportunities for individual students
to use technology to enhance their learning . These include online courses that provides students in remote locations with opportunities for customized curriculum and advanced placement courses, because they allow students to participate any time and from any where , online courses are becoming increasingly popular among postsecondary student.

of knowledge available to students, which offers great potential for the speed and style of learning.

The information on the Internet is there for all who

have access, without discrimination. People of all social strata are able to use technological advances, which is a fairly new academic development.

LOSS OF SKILLS

With this increased access to knowledge also comes a probable loss of communication skills and teacher, and students to peers. These skills are not as necessary in a classroom of computers, where individuality is a component of learning and is encouraged. Aside from learning, conflict resolution and socialization used to be two prominent reasons children came to school . The emphasis now has shifted away from these areas.

 POOR REMAIN POOR

While general access is not denied, some children may not be exposed to computers and other technology because of socio-economic status. A child may live in a home without a computer , and chances are he will attend a poor school district with limited numbers of computers available. This puts these children at a disadvantage in learning technological functions.
