For resort building , tower & facilities building ,first I use boreholes method ,so I should sink few boreholes to investigate the ground conditions
The ground is expected to be a very soft clay since it is nearby the river bank . Example :I make 1 borehole every 20 m2 to know the soil condition

I use borhole to determine the nature of the ground (usually below 6m depth) in a qualitative manner and then recover undisturbed samples for quantitative examination..
The greater the number of

boreholes the more certain it is possible to be of the correlation and thus to trust in the results.

Second , I can use Geophysical method to help the client to save up some cost

This method provide indirect methods of soil exporation, Geophysical method :can play an important role in dynamic field activities because they can provide very rapid information about large areas of a site .

TYPE OF DRILL AND INSITU TEST

ROTARY DRILLING

CONE PENETRATION TEST

INVESTIGATION OF THE SPT-N VALUE AND SHEAR STRENGTH FOR SOIL CONDITION, FOR RESORT, TOWER & FACILITIES BUILDING

UNIT I WILL USE ROTARY DRILLING BECAUSE THE GROUND IS EXPECTED TO BE ON A VERY SOFT CLAY AND IT IS ALSO NEAR RIVER BANK, WHICH MEAN THERE WILL BE WATER PRESENT IN THE SOIL. THIS PROCESS IS GOOD FOR

THIS TYPE OF SOIL.

INVESTIGATION OF THE SPT-N VALUE AND SHEAR STRENGTH FOR SOIL CONDITION, FOR RESORT, TOWER & FACILITIES BUILDING

DUE TO WATER PRESENCE SO THAT THE BOREHOLES DOES NOT COLLAPSE WE WILL
BUT CASING MADE OF STEEL TUBE. THEN WE TAKE THE UNDISTURBED SAMPLE BY USING A THIN WALLED SAMPLER BECAUSE IT IS GOOD FOR CLAY. WE WILL COOPERATE CONE PENETRATION TEST AS OUR INSITU TEST WITH THE ROTARY DRILLING. AS SAID BEFORE WE WILL MAKE 1 BOREHOLE FOR EVERY 4M2. IT MAY BE COSTLY BUT DUE TO RESORT BEING CONSTRUCTED.

The SI method used to get rock sample

Proper soil testing is a crucial part of any excavation project but is of

particular importance when constructing Texas fishing lakes and farm ponds. Knowing what types of soil are on site and the location of these soils is vital to decision making and planning. Just pushing dirt and hoping for the best can be an expensive gamble.

In some cases, soil tests must be performed in excess of 12

feet. In this case, a drilling rig is generally the most cost effective method. In this operation, a small hole is drilled into the soil and core samples are taken every 3-5 feet. These samples are sent to a lab for testing.

In creek or river bed areas which are areas of natural run off,

soil testing depths can often exceed 30 feet. This is due to soil washing in to the area over lengthy periods. Every site is different which makes an experienced contractor a vital part of any successful project.

Swimming pool & play ground are

Since the soil in the pool area and playground is consider to be soft we can choose vane shear test .It is particularly appropriate for assessing very soft and sensitive clays, which can not be tested accurately in a laboratory as it is difficult to obtain an undisturbed sample.

The test can be done at the base of a drillhole or trial pit, or at ground level. If the test is being conducted at the bottom of a drillhole it is important that the test area has not been disturbed by boring, generally the test is conducted five borehole diameters below the borehole base

Hand ager set is the most suitable soil boring

equipment for this case for so many reasons :

auger set is used to carry out manual drilling and sampling in a great

variety of different soils in an ergonomically sound way. It is particularly suitable for general soil investigation and taking samples for such activities as environmental research
Fast so it Save time & cost . Simple tool for drilling into soft soil of 6m depth .

TOOL SET

Carefully remove soil from auger

Suggested Scope of Work

(a) For Landfill design (i) Two boreholes per hectare of land; minimum 3 boreholes; up to 10-m below base of landfill; recording soil strata, ground water level, bedrock level (ii) One in situ permeability tests per hectare of land.

Type of Suggested Scope of Work Investigatio n
Subsoil/Geotechnica l Investigation

(iii) Performance of SPT tests and collection of undisturbed samples from boreholes. (iv) Laboratory tests on undisturbed samples - permeability, strength, compressibility

UNDISTURBED soil samples are those that are cut, removed, and packed with the least possible disturbance.
