Abstract:
This project examines two specific aspects of resource of management in wireless Local Area Network(WLANS) Call Admission Control(CAC) and handling of Link Adaptation(LA)events. A self consistent system to manage these for voice over internet protocol(VoIP) over an IEEE 802.11 WLAN is presented. The Proposed MAC medium access control (MAC) layer quality of service (QoS) enhancement mechanisms. The proposed scheme was evaluated on experimental test bed and test result show the correct admission decision were made under various network configuration

Proposed method:
The proposed Medium access layer(MAC) Whether the IEEE 802.11 MAC can provide desired QoS for voice connections has been extensively investigated. With the legacy 802.11 DCF mode, all stations, including the AP if available, compete for channel access with the same priority. There is no mechanism to assign higher priority to real-time traffic with stringent QoS requirements. In the MAC layer, schme based on the Endpoint Admission Control ppoint control paradigm, where the end point probe the network to determine if can call can be supported with acceptable quality of services(Qos)

Algorithm:
The EAC algorithm, outlined in this section, is based on the observation that when a VoWLAN system becomes congested the downlink delays of all calls increase rapidly as discussed above. Thus ,the probe round trip delays seen as a result of probing of a network that is already in the changed congested stage or that entres the congested state or that enters the congested state due to the addition probing traffic will be dominated by the large downlink delay component probe RTT values will be good estimate of downlink delay for a congested WLAN cell.
