PROS AND CONS OF COMMON LIGHT TWIN HELICOPTERS

• Agusta 109: sleek, fast, up to 7 pax seats


• EC 135: state of art, quiet, high capital cost, not
widely available, but lower DOC than some
• MD 902 Explorer: ‘NOTAR’ high capital costs,
history of technical and support difficulties
• Bell 427: unusually for Bell, has not been a
commercial success
• AS355 Twin Squirrel F1/F2/N: easy availability
predictable DOC, good cabin configurations

Overall – Metallic white with dark blue accent line – Power factory scheme with Caverton logo painted in blue on
the side of the machine (main fuselage) & tail fin / doors painted with www.caverton-helicopters.com
(Condition 7 out of 10).
Side Window Panels - Require re-seal and screws replaced with stainless steel.
Pilot / Co-Pilot Door Handle - Surrounds have been filled and painted, need removing repainting and re-sealing.

Cabin doors – Door handle surrounds have been fitted and painted, need removing, repainting and re-sealing.

Nose – Cone paint damage – small touch up required.


Windscreen surround – Black paint needs touch up.
Co-Pilot / Pilot Side Surround – Black paint, good condition.
Upper Front Cowling – Good condition, fasteners require replacing with stainless steel ones.
Main Transmission Cowling – Paint work in good condition, registration painted.

Sponsons – Need seals on forward & aft cowls (LH & RH)
Upper Rear Exhaust Cowling - Requires repainting screws & fasteners changed to stainless steel

LH Brake Unit - (Caliper) Leaking


Tail Boom – Paintwork in good condition
LH Horizontal Stablilizer - Needs re-painting
Horizontal Stabilizer Tips - Need stainless steel screw kit.
ELT – Aerial Modification & ELT upgrade required. Price?
Tail Fin - Good Condition. Note: Needs stainless steel screw kit.
Tail Rotor G/Box Cowling – Requires stainless steel screw kit.
Right Hand Lower Aerial - Requires replacing (see picture).
Door Seals (All) - Need replacing, re-bonding to airframe NOT the door as they are now.
Tail Cone – has (light) at the end – serviceable

Seats – Cockpit finished in blue (dark) leather (Refurbished in 2004, Hugh McCrae).
Seat belts, four point harness, black ‘specific scientific’ buckles & clips’ need to be re-finished in
brushed aluminium.
Tail Rotor Pedals & Floor Kick-Plates – Require re-painting “satin black”

Cockpit Carpet - Good condition 8/10

Rear Cabin Carpet – Good condition 8/10

Side Walls & Cockpit Internal Linings 6/10 - Require replacement / refurbishment. (Contact Hugh
McCrae for quote)
Internal Co-Pilot & Pilot Door Handles - Require re-furnishing in brushed aluminium to match seat-belt
buckles.
Cabin Seats – (Condition of seats 8/10) Finished in blue (dark) leather. Refurbished 2004 by Hugh
McCrae, Farnborough Aviation Industries)
(6) seat belts dark blue webbing (good condition). Buckles & clips require re-furbishing in brushed
aluminium.
Internal door handles – Require re-furbishing to match seat buckles.

Main Gear Tyres – Both are perished & require replacing
