Introduction
A management information system (MIS) is a subset of the overall internal
control of a business covering the application of people, documents,
technologies, and procedures by management accountants to solve
business problems such as costing a product, service or a business-wide
strategy.
Management information system is the combination of human and computer
based resources that result in the collection , storage, retrieval ,
communication, and use of data for the purpose of efficient management of
operation and for business planning and also for best patient care.
Management information system(MIS) is a sub system of HIS aimed at
providing periodic reports and data for management decision making .

OPD REGISTRATION
OPD is that part of the hospital with allotted physical
facilities and medical and other staff in sufficient number.
It has regulatory scheduled hours to provide care for
patients who are not registered as inpatients.
1st point of contact with the hospital.
It provides access to all patient registration-normal,
revisits, emergency.
It provides a unique UHID number to the patient.
It assigns physician to patient.

1. Setting up an appointment
Patient fixes OPD consults or diagnostics
appointment over phone or walk in.
Appointment fixed in Appointment schedule /
Equipment schedule.
Patient visits the facility and is guided to the OPD
counter for registration process by helpdesk.

2. Patient registration
Patient meets the PCE/PCC and fills the registration
form or gives details if already registered.
Patient Details entered in HIS.
Payments are made based on the different criteria's
involved.

3. Patient consult/ diagnosis and
treatment
Patient has been guided to nursing counter.
Nurse records patient vitals followed by consultation
with doctor.

4. Patient visit labs/ pharmacy
Patient visits various diagnostic departments and test
are conducted in labs and is informed about the date
of collecting the report.
Patient visits pharmacy if drugs are prescribed by
doctor.
