The Indian retail market, which is the fifth largest retail destination globally, has been ranked as
the most attractive emerging market for investment in the retail sector by AT Kearney's eighth
annual Global Retail Development Index (GRDI), in 2009.

A McKinsey report, 'The rise of Indian Consumer Market', estimates that the Indian consumer
market is likely to grow four times by 2025. Commercial real estate services company, CB
Richard Ellis' findings state that India's retail market has moved up to the 39th most preferred
retail destination in the world in 2009, up from 44 last year.

India continues to be among the most attractive countries for global retailers.

The organized retail sector, which currently accounts for around 5 per cent of the Indian retail
market, is all set to witness maximum number of large format malls and branded retail stores in
South India, followed by North, West and the East in the next two years. Tier II cities like Noida,
Amritsar, Kochi and Gurgaon, are emerging as the favoured destinations for the retail sector

K Raheja Corp being amongst India's biggest hospitality and real estate players, the Group

by taking a first giant step to successfully establish a retail store know as "Shopper's Stop" .
The foundation of Shopper's Stop was laid on October 27, 1991.

The group is expanding its retail chains across the country on the back of the vast experience
it gathered from feedbacks and keen observance of people's taste keeping in tune with its
culture, customs, traditions and income.

Shoppers Stop is one of the leading retail stores in India. It began by operating a chain of
department stores under the name ͞Shoppers͛ Stop͟ in India. Currently Shoppers Stop has 30
stores across the country and 4 stores under the name Home Stop. Shoppers Stop also
operates a number of specialty stores, namely Crossword Bookstores, Mothercare, Brio, Desi
Café.
    

Shoppers Stop retails a range of branded apparel and private label under the following
categories of apparel, footwear, fashion jewellery, leather products, accessories and home
products. These are complemented by cafe, food, entertainment, personal care and
various beauty related services.

Shoppers Stop launched its e-store with delivery across major cities in India in 2008. The
website retails all the products available at Shoppers Stop stores, including apparel,
cosmetics and accessories.

Shopper's Stop in the only retailer from India to become a member of the prestigious
Intercontinental Group of Departmental Stores (IGDS). The IGDS consists of 30 experienced
retailers from all over the world, which include established stores like Selfridges (England),
Karstadt (Germany), Shanghai No.1 (China) , Manor (Switzerland), to name a few.

·Assists Customers, communicates fashion trends, assesses needs by responding to customer


cues. Investigates the dormant needs and assists in making the right buying choices (Suggestive
selling, Cross Selling and Add ʹ on sales).

·Contributes in expanding the membership base of the organization by Educating customers on


benefits of loyalty card.
