TO RESEARCH?
• Facebook Groups
 WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO
RESEARCH THIS PROGRAM?
• The reason I chose to research
Facebook groups is because I already
run a Facebook group. Its extremely
easy to share new and get information
out. Plus in the day and age we live in,
we might as well use technology the
best way we can.

 WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM
RESEARCHING THIS PROGRAM?
• There are 3 different types of Facebooks Groups
• Public- Anyone can view this group or can be apart of it.
• Closed- You can find this group in the Facebook search, but you to request to
join it. Posts by group members will only be visible to people in the group not to
the public.
• Secret – This group can not be seen anywhere on Facebook. The creator of the
group can invite people to the group and those people are the only ones that
can see content of the group.

 EXPLAIN WHAT THIS PROGRAM
DOES
• This programs main purpose is to have groups on Facebook that allows users
to socialize around any topic or community thing.
• Its great for announcements and can get information to people in the
groups extremely fast and efficient.
 2 EXAMPLES OF USING FACEBOOK
GROUPS IN THE CLASSROOMS
• Reminders for home work, quizzes, tests.
• Also putting your syllabus on there. Using it as a place for paperwork that
parents need to know what is going on. So they can be more engaged with
their child's school.
 WHAT CHALLENGES MIGHT YOU
ENCOUNTER USING THIS PROGRAM?
• The only challenge I see with using Facebook groups is: people not having
Facebook or allowing their children to have a Facebook.
• Another challenge could be maybe they don’t have internet at their house.
 WHAT MIGHT BE THE POSSIBLE
COST?
• There are options to promote your page on Facebook groups. But I don’t
think you would need to do that In this case. You could invite the people in
your class and they would get all the updates on their Facebook feed.
