done to pave way to the understanding of the different
phenomena of life.

1.For solving an issue or problem
A research can be conducted to find the
reasons why research is not a favorite to
many students despite teachers’ exerting
of effort to motivate them.
2. For the improvement of the life of man
The continuous study of the use of technology has
greatly helped man in his daily living. The LRT and
MRT which are run by electricity may have been a
product of a research in Western countries, and
not in the Philippines, but they have greatly
affected the transportation system in the country.
3. For correcting a practice or system used in a
company or a certain group
For instance, the use of cellphones while driving has
contributed to the increasing number of accidents on the
roads. By the use of research, a solution to these growing
cases of fatal incidents may be decreased, if not completely
worked out. Perhaps, the banning of the use of cell phones
while driving may serve as a good solution to the issue.
4. For decision-making purposes
A research regarding what the students feel
and think about using online modules as a
substitute for classroom discussion may serve
as a guide or basis for the school officials’
decision whether to adapt it in the curriculum
for Grade 10 or not.
5. For evaluating an idea or information
Having a basis to consider as a result of a
research, people may agree or disagree on
something.
Example: If somebody predicted that the earth
will stop revolving around the sun in the next 30
years, it will have to be supported by research.
6. For predicting what is to come or
may possibly happen in the future
Man’s continuous destruction of the earth
by suffocating it with tons of garbage and
not reusing or recycling products or
objects will affect not only the health of
people but the environment as well.
