Technical/Maintenance Records

This requirement is to ensure that aircraft are


maintained in airworthy condition and in accordance
with certification requirements, it shows ;
a). Current/update status
b). It also allows a new operator, if the
aircraft is sold, leased, or returned to the
lessor.
c). To know the exact status of the aircraft
with respect to: ADs, SBs, Mod. and Major
Repairs.

d). It also lets the new operator know what the
maintenance schedule where it stands in the
progression.

There are four classification of records;
1. Continuous records:
General records (aircraft, engines, compo
nents, appliances)
▪ Time in service records (Time limit, Time since
last overhaul, Time since last inspection)
▪ Life limited parts (Operating limits, Accumulated
hours and cycles, Modifications per SB and/or AD,
Product improvement by manufacturer or operator)
▪ AD Status (List of applicable Ads, Date in time in
service, Methods of compliance AD, SB, EO, etc.,
Time to next action for recurring ADs)

▪ Aircraft records/Current inspection status
(Time in service since last inspection, Routine
tasks performed during last inspection, Nonroutine
tasks performed during last inspection)
▪ Component records (Time since last overhaul,
Time remaining to next overhaul, and Component

2. Routine Records:
General records (aircraft, engines,
components, appliances)
Technical/Maintenance Records

▪ Completed checklists (Maintenance ferry
checklist, Engine-out ferry checklist, Test flight
checklist)
▪ Logbooks (Flight logbook, Maintenance logbook,

3. Repetitive Records
▪ Maintenance/inspection checks/daily, 48-hour,
transit, letter checks (Signed off routine task
cards, Signed off non-routine task cards, Package
closeout records)

4. Permanent Records
General records (aircraft, engines, components,

taskcards, EOs, etc.)
▪ Major repairs/alterations records (Accident
reports, Repair authorizations, Sketches,
Drawings)

(i) A description of the
work performed; and
(ii) The date of completion of
the work performed; and
(iii) The signature, and
certificate number of the
person approving the
aircraft for return to service.
