WHERE ARE WE & SOME USEFUL
INFO……..

 We are in a island called Ifuru in Maldives which is


½ hour from Male by flight & 12 hrs by boat.

We have already constructed an airport over hear.

 Island size is approx. 50 Hectors

 For Shopping & Medical we have to go to Ungoofaaru island


which is 5 minutes run by boat.

 We have Staff & Labor accommodation.


WHERE ARE WE & SOME USEFUL INFO…….

For food we have a mess which is near to Staff accommodation


(Break fast time 6.30 am to 7.30 am ,
lunch time 12 pm to 1 pm &
Dinner time 7 pm to 8 pm)

 We have a speed boat which will take us to other Island in case of


Emergency, receiving & dropping employees, shopping or any
transportation purposes .

 For water supply we have RO plant &


for electricity we have Generators.

 There is a TV room near labor camp for watching TV.

There are no dangerous animal in this island,


wear long sleeve shirts to avoid mosquito bites.

 Sea coast is safe, don’t go deep into the sea, do not swim.

For sending money to your country you have to go to Ungoofaaru


Island with your ID card or passport copy.

Learn some important Maldivian and English words it will be useful.

HR / SITE RULES

 Working hours are from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

 1 hour lunch break from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

 Juice break is from 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. &


Tea break is from 04 p.m. to 04.30 p.m.

 Fridays are off days, Overtime will be paid if employees


work during off days & holidays.

Company can transfer its employees to any of their


existing or new sites.

 Employees need to sign attendance register daily


before starting work.

Overtime form should be signed by Supervisor /HR


before doing overtime, Overtime should be approved
by the Project Manager and handed over to the HR
before 20th of every month.

For taking advance need to fill the advance form,


fill the necessary details, sign it & submit it to
HR for approval.

 If you want leave fill the leave form from HR and get it
approved by your supervisor & submit it to HR for approval.

 If you are sick, report to your supervisor.

If you have any problem, report to your immediate


supervisor or HR.

 For resignation 2 months notice should be given &


employee will bear air ticket expenses & visa expenses.

 Employee should not bring any guest to the island


without permission.

Contract is for 12 months, which will be renewed with
consent of both the parties for another 12 months.

After completion of 12 months employee is eligible for


leave of 1 month & will be paid 1 months basic salary,
If employee do not want to take annual leave he can claim
1 month salary within 1 month of entitlement. Annual
leave cannot be accumulated for long period of time.

 If the employee is sick for more than 2 days employee


has to submit medical certificate from doctor.

 The company maintains a drug free policy. Employees
drug test will be conducted occasionally.

 After completion of contract, employee’s cannot accept


employment with any other companies in Maldives for
6 Months.

 Employees will all the time respect & obey the rules
and regulation, regulation & custom of Republic of
Maldives.

 Obey the instructions given by your supervisors,


Employees should not refuse to work, not doing so
will result in warning letter & if repeated will lead to
termination.

 Wear Safety equipments all the time during work, not


doing so will result in warning letter & if repeated
will lead to termination.

 Fighting will result in issuing warning letter &


repeated fighting will lead to termination.

 Be polite, Shouting & misbehaving with your collogues,


supervisor, contractor will result in warning letters &
if repeated will lead to termination.

 When an employee is unable to perform his duties,


will cause for termination.

 Employees should take care of tools handed over to them,


any damage to tools or company property employees will
be asked for compensation, written warning & if repeated
will lead to termination.

 Do not use tools and equipments which you are not


authorized to use.

 Do not looked into secret company files or locked area


without proper authorization.

 Report immediately any injury or accident near you.

 Stealing company property is an offence.

 Trying to harm the company in manner will result in


terminated without notice.

 In case of Emergency leave, employee has to give proof of


emergency, has to be approved by his Project Manager,
While going on emergency leave employee has to deposit
2 months salary in advance or has to appoint a guarantor,
who will pay the amount if the employee does not return.
Emergency leave are unpaid leave & employee has to
bear all the travel expense.

 If the employee is absent for more than 5 days without


giving notice, employee can be terminated without notice.

 Disposing of Company property will lead to Termination.

 When the employee purposely disturbs order and
discipline among other employees will result in Termination.

 If the employee remains in Maldives during annual leave,


he is not permitted to engage in any employment or any
type of business for any other party.

 If a employee is late for work by 6 minutes his salary will


be deducted 1/10 of an hour.

 If employee want to leave early he has to take permission


from his supervisor, it cannot be more than once in a
month and 5 times in a year

 Please keep your surrounding neat & clean
to avoid health problems.

 Do not remove any utensils from the kitchen.

 And lastly always remember we have travelled a long


way wasting our money and company's money, only
for one reason that is to earn money for us and for our
family, So forget all the hardship we have to suffer and
concentrate on only one thing that is to earn some money,
so do not get provocated by others and just concentrate
on our aim.
