INTRODUCTION
 Political speeches are always a source of delivering your point of view to your
supporters throughout the world through them we can understand, interpret and
determine the dimensions of a particular political actor.
 It helps the one to understand about the dimensions of a nation and the issues faced by
that nation. In the British India political scenario,
 Muhammad Ali Jinnah was an eminent figure who drew the attention of the entire
political scenario of that time. He was the leader of All India Muslim League and
played a vital role in the creation of Pakistan.
Literature Review

 Abogun (2011) observes it and on the basis of his observation he said ‘that is the reason
why language is used in dealing with the issue within the political terrain; such
language now becomes a political language’. It is not necessary that political speech is
representing a success in spite of its truthfulness rather it is based on the effective
discrepancy. (Beard, 2000:18).
Purpose of the Study

 This paper serves for the purpose of examining how Muhammad Ali Jinnah made clear,
the creation of Pakistan important for the Muslims who were crushed between the two
tyrant lords that are Hindus and British. The audience of these speeches was the honorable
leaders of Muslims who were in favor of Pakistan.
 The term style here in this research article refers to the use of language in accordance
with the particular context (in Delhi in front of the first legislative assembly of Pakistan) in
which key aspects regarding the creation of Pakistan and ways of governance in Pakistan
were put forward.

Stylistic Analysis
(Data Analysis and Findings)
Theme of the speech:
He suggested two major functions of the legislative assembly, first of all, it was
supposed to prepare a constitution for that newly formed state and second was to
realise it’s duty and function as a full and complete sovereign body as the federal
legislature of Pakistan. He acknowledged several aspects as the division plan was
unknown, titanic, unparalleled. The key points on which his speech was based
were:
 Realise your responsibility as sovereign legislation establishing authority and
be confident about the gravest task of preparing the constitution. Establish law and
order protection of life, property and religious beliefs of its subject is prior
responsibility of the state
Continued………

 The second most important task is about dealing with the curse of bribery and
corruption. In order to put that down with iron hands, adequate measures must be taken.
Black marketers will not be tolerated at any cost too.
 Another passed on a legacy is evil of nepotism and jobbery. It is also not permitted not
from higher authorities or at a lower level, it will not be tolerated at any extent if it is heard
it will not be tolerated at any cost.
 People may disagree with a decision of partition, especially of Bengal and Punjab but
future history record will verdict in my favour. The idea of United India will be a terrific
idea.
 To make Pakistan a prosperous and great state we must work wholly and solely concentrated
on the well-being of people especially masses and the poor.
 Forget the past, bury the hatchet and work with high spirits to prosper without considering
your community, colour, creed or caste from all the aspects he is first, secondly, and lastly, he is a
citizen of Pakistan with equal rights, privileges and obligations and at end progress will be made
should be set independently and this will also result in vanishing of
, In order to progress people,

subgroups of the two major religious groups that are Muslims and Hindus
 You’re free to worship anywhere and however you want to in the state of Pakistan. The people
of England were divided into Catholics and Protestants, but we are starting with the fundamental
principle of equality which people of England realised with the passage of time and after facing
realities.
 This situation must be considered ideal and both gigantic groups will cease their identities not
on religious because it’s personal faith of anyone but in a political sense of citizen.
 At last, in his own words I would like to mention the guiding principle which he suggested for
himself is: “I shall always be guided by the principles of justice and fair play, as in political
language, prejudice, ill will and in other words partiality or favouritism. My guiding principle
will be justice and impartiality and I am sure with your support and cooperation I can look
forward to Pakistan becoming one of the greatest nations of the world.
In the end of his speech, he presented the message which he had got from State
Secretary Of USA that he gave best wishes to the members of the assembly and the people of
Pakistan for the successful conclusion of the task you are going to undertake.

situation of the speech of the first meeting of the first legislative assembly of Pakistan and
he addressed the audience about the duties of legislative assembly evils which can hinder
the progress and on the parallel end what are the ways to progress and what are the rights of
a citizen. The term style here does not refer to the way in which language is used by (Mr.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah) in the particular context of (first meeting of the first legislative
assembly) for (making them aware about their responsibilities and his expectations from
the stakeholders of a newly formed state). The theme of this speech refers to the ideas
which can harm, hinder the progress of Pakistan and the ideas through which Pakistan can
progress and what are the guiding principles for the ruler of Pakistan. This analysis may
help to find out the hidden ideological meanings which lie hidden in the text.
