PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

USE OF THE PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

When do we use the present perfect continuous tense?

We use the Present perfect continuous to express actions that began in the past and are
still uncompleted action, usually using for and since.

For (shows) how long the action has taken


place.
Example :
- He has been teaching for two hours.
- You have been learning english for a year

Since indicates the start of an action in the past.


Example :
- She has been washing clothes since 6 o'clock
- I have been working since 9 o'clock.
