Assistant Professor & Associate ID: 173-17-367 Head (In-Charge) Department of CSE Daffodil International University Sunday 9 December 2018 Objectives • To outline the reasons behind choosing solar energy. • To gain an alternative solution apart from oil, coal, gas and uranium. • To justify that solar energy technologies are better economically and environmentally. • To prove how Solar powered electricity generation is better in terms of economy and environment than the existing method. • To Differentiate other technologies with solar in terms of costs.
Final Year Defense
2 Why choose Solar Energy? • No greenhouse gas emissions are released. • Environmental Friendly. • Solar power can be said as an energy source that provides clean energy.

4 Rural Electrifications-1 • As a country Bangladesh still is an underdeveloped one. • Arguably, Dhaka and Chittagong are two of the biggest cities that requires most of the electricity. • One of the major problem is being centralized.
Final Year Defense
5 Rural Electrifications-2 • Each year our government spends a lot to buy electricity. • It is profitable and advancement as well if we can bring our rural areas under solar energy electrification.
Final Year Defense
6 Impact of SHS on Economy • This year Bangladesh bought 500MW of electricity from India. • Costs netting around Tk. 4.71 on short term basis and 6.48 on long term basis. • Rather than wasting on term basis electrification we should spend on a initial power plant like Solar for future development.
Final Year Defense
7 Impact of SHS on Environment • Existing electricity generation like coal powerplant harms environment a lot. • Pollution through CO2 emission is one of the major concern. • Raising Global warming and the amount of increasing rate of lead in air. • Animals living on land and under water are being effected heavily.
Final Year Defense
8 Discussion-1 • Solar Energy requires a lot of initial cost. • Need to manage to conjure electricity through solar panels in rural areas. • Kenya has around 59% of their power producing through solar energy. • By 2039 Kenya is targeting to reduce this too.
Final Year Defense
9 Discussion-2 • We need to start developing to improve our Solar electrification. • Although the initial cost will be higher as it is the major drawback than the existing power plant. • We need to start developing rather than to increase our less dependency to other nations. • This will benefit both environmentally and economically.

10 Result • A survey has been carried out in Gafargawon Upazila, Mymensingh. • Around 90 attendees were there. • People provided with Solar Home System are pleased and want this to continue. • Reduced costs of electricity. • They are being able to use electricity at night. • Street lights are being powered through solar.
