LESSON PLAN
CPD 1023 : ADVANCED IN
SOLID MODELING
Lesson Plan CPD 1024 2
 Rationale for the inclusion of the 4
course/module in the program :
Advanced in 3D Solid Modeling for product
design application

 Prerequisite : 8
Introduction to Solid Modeling (CPD 1013)

 Credit Value : 3 7
Lesson Plan CPD 1023 (Cont.) 2
 Total student Learning Time(SLT ) : 6
120 hours / 1session
1 credit = 40 Hours
3 credit = 3 x 40
= 120 Hours

 SLT (120 Hours) divided to: 6

1- Face to Face (In class session):
98 Hours
2- Independent Learning:
22 Hours
1-Face to Face (98 Hours) 6

 Will be held during class session through

semester and the time calculation will be based
on 3 credit of subject divided to:
1- 1 credit theory = 1credit x 1Hour
= 1hour x 14 weeks
= 14 Hours

2- 2 credit practical = 2credit x 3Hours

= 6hours x 14 weeks
Calculation Notes:
1 session = 14 weeks = 84 Hours
1 credit Theory = 1Hr
1 credit Practical =3Hrs
2-Independent Learning (22 Hours) 6
 Self-learning by student out from class
session (which not include in student
timetable for this subject)
Extra hours class
 It is including take home assessment
whether given by lecturer or student own
initiatives to study the subject such as:
1- Assignment
2- Project Research
3- Group Discussion/Study group
4- Test/Presentation preparation etc
Lesson Plan CPD 1023 (Cont.) 2
 Objectives: 9
1. To give students knowledge in advanced
steps of solid modeling software
2. To guide students in exploring the
maximize usage of solid modeling
software in design purpose
3. To make students able to re-draw and re-
design current product using solid
modeling software
Lesson Plan CPD 1023 (Cont.) 2
 Learning outcomes (LO) 10
By the end of this subject, student should
able to:-
1. Understand and apply the given module
correctly and effectively. (C3)
2. Develop design product effectively .(P4)
3. Work independently and as part of the
learn when designing an assembled
product (A3,CTPS)
Lesson Plan CPD 1023 (Cont.) 2
 Transferable skills: (TARGET!!) 11
By the end of the course, students are
able to:

1. Develop new model or part

using Advanced in Solid Modeling
Features.

2. Can assemble parts
