THE STORM ON THE LAKE
One evening, after Jesus had spent the
whole day healing the sick and teaching the
people, He called His Apostles, and together,
they got into a little boat on the lake of
Galillee.
He said to them,”Let us go over to the
other side of the lake.”
Jesus was very tired because of the labor
of the day.
The boat had hardly left the shore, before
he fell asleep.
They were about halfway
across the lake, when
suddenly a great storm
arose. The wind blew, and
soon great waves were
dashing against the sides,
of the boat. They began to
take in a great amount of
water and it looked as
though the boat would
surely sink.
At this time, Jesus was sleeping peacefully.
Finally, the Apostles came to Him and woke Him, saying, “o
Lord save us! We are perishing!”
Jesus said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you little
faith?” Then rising up, He rebuked the wind and said to the
sea, “Peace, be still.”
The wind ceased and it became very calm. The tempest
was gone as if it had never been. In wonder, the discples
said “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey
Him?”
