A teachers job is to build scaffolding from
existing knowledge on which to hang incoming
new knowledge.
IMPORTANCE OF MAPPING IN
TEACHING
Helps to clarify and structure ideas and also
enhance their interests in learning.
Helps students see relationships between ideas
and concepts.
Utilizes the full range of the left and right
hemispheres of the brain. Helps memory recall
Aids in developing higher-level
thinking skills (create, analyze,
evaluate).
Encourages students to think
creatively about the subject
Helps students evaluate
assumptions.
TEACHING: MANAGEMENT
The process of dealing with or controlling things or people.
Classroom management refers to the wide variety of skills and
techniques that teachers use to keep students organized, orderly,
focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive during a
class.
Classroom management is defined as the methods and strategies
an educator uses to maintain a classroom environment that is
conducive to student success and learning.

1. Take charge of your class
2. Focus on the Disruptive students
3. Let students choose their seats
4. Give incentives to do their best on assignment
5. Keep an eye on your students
