NG’s Future Roadmap in India…
RISE of CNG in India

C At the current price of petrol and Diesel, CNG is cheaper by as much as

41-62% and the total cost of ownership shows CNG to be about 20%
cheaper than diesel and petrol. While the CNG vehicles comes at a
premium of little over Rs 40,000 to 50,000 which can recovered in less
than a year.

N Already 3 million CNG vehicles are plying on Indian roads.

Consequently, if the more CNG stations are set up CGD
consumption is expected to grow 15% annually to 46 mmscmd
in the next five years.

G
To improve the CNG infrastructure across the country the government
has recently finished ninth CGD bidding round in April to offer CGD right
for 86 geographical areas spread over 174 districts.

The MythAn about CNG (Myth’s Answers)…

• CNG vehicles are similarly capable as other fuel run vehicles. They

Driving Dynamics produce similar power and offer similar throttle to engines as
petrol’s or diesel’s.

• There is a myth that CNG engines require frequent maintenance,

Maintenance especially spark plugs & air filters, though new age engines do not
require such maintenance.

• One can drive a vehicle as far as his vehicle’s GAS tank supports. It does

Exclusive Fuel not affect performance & there is no any negative effect on engine as
well.

• Although CNG is a flammable fuel, but the degree of flammability is

Dangerous relatively low. New gen cylinders are designed to prevent any such
incidence. CNG is proportionately soluble with out side air, so chances of
such risks go almost NIL.
