key words
Read carefully the instructions and the
questions before you listen. Identify key
words and families of words. See if there are
names of people in the conversation that you
can use to somehow predict what the
listening will be about.

Watch and listen to a video for 2 minutes
without the subtitles and write down a
summary. Then, watch and listen again, this
time with subtitles on (L1 for lower levels, L2
for more confident students) and compare
your notes.
Transcribing
Watch and listen to a short video (A song, a
conversation, a monologue) or an excerpt of a
video (2 minutes) without the subtitles and make
a text out of the speech you are listening to.
Make pauses and rewind if necessary then,
watch and listen again, this time with subtitles on
(in English) and compare your notes.
