 Abstract
• vehicles. The major behind the mass use of
electric vehicles is the battery charging time and
lack of charging stations. so here we propose a
regenerative braking system. This system allows a
vehicle to generate each time brakes are applied.
• in the present work it is proposed to implement
regenerative braking system combined with
conventional braking system to recover energy
during the application of brakes and also to
maintain direction stability.

• The wheel is to be provided with a modified
mechanism through which by initial pressing of
brake pedal results in activation of
regenerative braking system and further
pressing of brake pedal leads to activation
conventional braking system in addition to
regenerative brake.

 WHAT IS REGENERATIVE
BRAKING?
• which allows a vehicle to recapture part of the
kinetic energy that would otherwise be 'lost' to
heat when braking and make use of that power
either by storing it for future use or feeding it
back into a power system for other vehicles to
use.
• Regenerative braking is used on hybrid
gas/electric automobiles to recoup some of the
energy lost during stopping. This energy is
saved in a storage battery and used later to
power the motor whenever the car is in electric

• As the brake pads against rub the wheels,excessive
heat energy is created.

30% of the cars generated power.

automobile accidents are due to skidding.
• Skidding ,vehicle instability,and long
distance stopping,these problems
commonly occur on vehicle with
conventional brake system which can be
avoided by adding regenerative brakes.

• Here conventional brakes are applied with
regenerative braking system ,so that the
wheels do not lock during braking.
• braking system prevents wheels locking
or skidding,no matter how hard brakes are
applied,or how slippery the road
surface.steering stays under control and
stopping distances are generally reduced.
