ABSTRACT

 Modified p-q theory based control of solar photovoltaic

(PV) array integrated unified power quality conditioner.
The system incorporates clean energy generation along
with power quality improvement thus increasing
functionality of the system.
 This modification in p-q theory enables its application
for PV-UPQC control in conditions of distorted PCC
voltages.
 The PV array is integrated at the DC-bus of the UPQC,
provides a part of active load power thus reducing
demand on the supply system.
OBJECTIVE

 The aim of the project to increase the efficiency and

then reducing the voltage and current harmonic in the
grid interface system using Fuzzy logic
controller(FLC).
EXISTING SYSTEM
EXPLANATION

 A modified p-q theory algorithm based on GCDSC

enables operation of PV-UPQC under polluted PCC
voltage conditions.
 The integration of PV array at the DC-link of PV-
UPQC reduces the load demand on supply system
 The reactive power sharing by the series VSC
increases utilization of series VSC under nominal
conditions while reducing the burden on shunt VSC.
DISADVANTAGE

 There is sudden change in irradiation and fluctuations

in PCC voltage such as voltage sags/swells.
 PI controller has maximum overshoot and high
settling time
 It tends to make the system unstable because it
responds slowly towards the produced error.
PROPOSED CIRCUIT
EXPLANATION

 The main purpose of a UPQC is to compensate for

voltage imbalance, reactive power, negative sequence
current and harmonics.
 The p-q Theory uses the Clarke transformation, also
known as the transformation, which consists of a real
matrix that linearly maps three phase ages and
currents

ADVANTAGES
 The control stability, reliability, efficiency, and
durability of fuzzy control
 It can be implemented in hardware, software, or a
combination of both.
 Because of the rule-based operation, any reasonable
number of inputs can be processed and numerous
outputs generated.
 FL can control nonlinear systems that would be
difficult or impossible to model mathematically.
CONCLUSION

 Power quality improved and reduce the harmonics

 Efficiency is improved
 Improved uses of renewable energy
