• Company: SouthShore
• Wood furniture company in Quebec city, Canada
• (Medium size, 40-60$M sales, 500 employees)
• Needed to change business model to survive Asian imports
• US wood household market: $4.2B in 1997 to $19.6B in
2002
• Imports rose from 25% of sales to 50%, and Chinese
imports rose from 20% of sales to 40%
• During same period, due to MC, Wood cabinet industry
in N.A, rose but not imports!
• In 2006, President had vision of offering Mass Customized
furniture
