 Information technology is important to the
defence of a country because a government
has to keep its citizens safe online, as well as
in the skies, and on land.
 As Defence shifts its focus from metal and
mechanics to unmanned vehicles, drones,
smart bombs software is becoming a crucial
piece of weaponry.
 Air Force earlier used to say that life of
aircraft depend on quality of its sheet metal
but statement has now changed it depends
on quality of our software.

real brains behind modern warfare.
 From remotely piloted aircraft and smart
bombs to autonomous vehicles and

where for certain application research and
development carried out by the scientists
themselves some other application
hardware/software engineers joined the
scientists in development, hardware/software
engineers ,hardware (with electronics and
communication) engineer and lastly by software
engineer. Use of technologies and tools also
varies.

 The customized software developed for
Hospital Management is used in Indian Army
by the name of Dhanvantri. The
customized software is used for patient
registration and retrieval and is deployed at
all Indian Army centres across India. It is
used for mapping and identification of more
than 1.5 Million Employees and Family
members.
 Microsoft Military Messaging Solutions which
enable defence organisation to issue formal
communication with ease and speed
ensuring intergrity and confidentiality.

Force
 RFID card reader based Air men tracking
system, visitor management system and
CCTV system for the air base of India Air
force.
 Health care software system for Hospitals
in Air Force Station across the nation.
 Net-T(Network Tactical) that turns the
fighter aircraft into wireless Routers in sky
allowing ground forces to share information
with each other can share video data, map
coordinates and other information without
the use of traditional satellite or radio
communication.

 Command Management System (CMS)
build by the two retired officers of Indian
Navy.
 Online Financial Information System(FIS)
works in areas of budgeting, procurement,
financial planning and accounting to the
organisation.
 Polar Navy- It is an efficient, user friendly,
cross platform marine navigation software
deals with weather, tides and GPS system.
