OBJECTIVE

• In the present scenario of technological revolution it has been

observed that every application products are impacted with
multiple functions.
• The design is also moving forward the miniature architecture; all
this properties can be achieved in a product by using
programmable devices.
• When ever we are thinking about any programmable devices
then the embedded technology comes into the front. The
embedded is now a day very much popular and most the product
are developed with Microcontroller based embedded technology.

3
DESIGN PRINCIPLE

• A Programmable controller is programmed to control and

protect a transformer against different faults as per the
programmer logic.
• Here a digital MC is designed to model a smart hospital with
smart watch and real time fault detection and alerting system
against over temperature and saline level fault.
• In this project different faults are tested. Additionally our system
send an automated Wireless data to remote location on fault
conditions to alert security officer or Hospital Admin or
Manager,

• PT(Potential transformer)
• Micro –Controller(AT89S52)
• Transistors(BC547)
• Registers

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
POWER SUPPLY
SECTION
In this project the power supply
required is very much precession
and also requires different level
of power supply. Basically the
power supply used for the
transmitter and receiver is
arranged from a battery. Along
with the battery the power
supply requirement are +12Volt
and +5Volt

7
MOTHER BOARD-AT89C51
• 8 bit microcontroller
• 40 pin dip
• 4 port(p0,p1,p2,p3)
• Two timer counter
• 128 bytes RAM and 4KB ROM
• UART serial comm.

8
SIGNAL CONDITIONING
• The output form the input signal i.e. from decoder or any other
circuit must be compatible with the  -controller, because the 
-controller can takes 5V as input voltage and gives a 5V as
output voltage. That for we need a amplifier/signal conditioning
circuit as given in the below figure.

OPAMP LM393
• An op-amp is an active device, which means that it requires
an external power source. In this experiment, a Voltage of
±12 was used. This power supply serves the purpose of
allowing the output signal to be greater than the input signal.

LED INDICATOR
The indicator section consists of a light emitting diode and its driver
circuit is designed on the basis of current required to glow the light
emitting diode.

RF TRANSMITTER
RF TRANSMITTER
Transmission through RF is better than IR (infrared) because of many reasons.
Firstly, signals through RF can travel through larger distances making it suitable
for long range applications.

This RF module comprises of an RF Transmitter and an RF Receiver. The

transmitter/receiver (Tx/Rx) pair operates at a frequency of 434 MHz.

The RF module is often used alongwith a pair of encoder/decoder. The encoder

is used for encoding parallel data for transmission feed while reception is
decoded by a decoder. HT12E- HT12D,, etc. are some commonly used
encoder/decoder pair ICs.
ADVANTAGES
• Reliable Control System

• Efficient Device Protection

• Control Room Indication with Auto Alert System

• Reliable Automation System due to use Microcontroller

• Due to use of our proposed scheme Production increases

15
LIMITATIONS
• Requires Technical skill for Trouble Shooting

• Regular Maintenance Required

• Not a cost effective as compared to the manual mode

16
FUTURE EXPANSION

• This setup can be interfaced to

computer network and keep a log on
the faults.
• The project can be designed with a high
quality microcontroller based system or
with a PLC(Programmable Logic
Controller) for more reliable and better
output with time efficiency.
17
CONCLUSION

• This project is working satisfactorily in the laboratory

condition.
